I assume you're refering to a modern swing out cylinder gun and not an old break top model.S&W .38 5 shot, exposed hammer, 2.5 in. barrel, s/n 13378.
1993.BMB1XXX
serial is VYY831*
Unfortunantly the SCSW does not cover SN's for semiautos beyond 1998 and is very incomplete after 1994.ser no VAN87XX
It's a .38 Double Action 3rd Model. SN's ran from 119001 in 1884 to 322700 in 1895.I inherited a S&W 5 shot, top break, .38 with serial number 273438
Ranges from around $250 in very good to close to 1K in "as new".Any idea of the value?
.38 Single Action 2nd Model. SN's ran from 1 in 1877 to 108255 in 1891.5 shot, S&W, single action, s/n 87319
Well, no... but since you said you had another I assumed it was the same caliber. Not to question your expertise, but are you sure the second one is a .38 cal?
There are two versions of the .32 single action that fall in that serial number range:I measure it to be .32
Then it would be a .32 Single Action (Model One and a Half Centerfire).Mine is the top break.
