Either SN would fall in the late 1994 thru 1995 range.S&W 686-4 6" with a Serial No: BXZ7xxx.
DOB of S&W 686-4 SerNo: BSZ7xxx

It's a .38 Military & Police, which became the model 10 when S&W began assigning model numbers around 1957.I have what appears to be a model 10, 38 special, serial # 5906**. Any idea what year it was made?
Your SN dates it to early 1930's.

Did you take the serial number from the underside of the frames grip butt.
If you look back at post number 4214 on the last page you'll see where the SN is located. Include any letter prefixes.
An adjustable sighted K frame will have a "K" prefix SN.
S&W did not offer a N frame in 22.

It's a "K" frame (medium frame) 357 made in stainless steel. The blued/nickle version was called the model 19.
They are very popular guns.
