SIG Sauer P250 9x19mm as an Home defense gun?

I do not like the idea of an cocked hammer. I do not like any spring on Tension if the gun is not used.

Remember: we have here not repair Service for any guns. If it breaks, throw the gun away and buy a new one.
No spare parts like springs. Not even to mention any "rebuild". Whatever that is.

I like the idea of small grips of the 1911 platform. I just wonder how much Trigger reach any of your 1911 has. Measure it from grip to Trigger with an caliper. The SD9VE has 2.64" of Trigger reach.

The lack of spare parts surprises me. I thought you can order them from overseas without difficulty? If so, the parts are simple and relatively easy to drop in.

A rebuild for a 1911 is the refitting of parts that naturally wear during the cycle of the gun. Your SD9VE won't need this because the camming surfaces on the barrel and locking lugs are much larger than the 1911 design. They can take a lot more punishment. The same with the Glock, etc. All pistols will need spring replacements after 5000 rounds or so. A PT92 will need springs and eventually, a locking block replacement. The locking block is what cams to lock up the action.

Unlike proprietary pistols, the 1911 (and Glock) have huge aftermarket parts support.

Yes I can order spare parts from over seas.

But...
in the last months there has been an Change on online Business so they included an online tax even if it is bought in the US and we paid taxes there as well. And lately None of my ordered gun related items arrive anymore.
They are writing a new gun law and halting all gun/reloading related imports.

I would not bet on it anymore I may get spare parts just Shopping around. Through an US and Local registred FFL dealer yes I can order spare parts.
But...
because huge demands the FFL dealer registred in the US and Locally has inflated it's Prices as it seems (if you ordered through them the guns used to be cheaper). So, by now for example, at the local gun shop I get the Taurus PT 92 cheaper (through it's mass importer. Most likely an representative) than if I would privately order it from this US-Local registred FFL dealer.
For example the Taurus PT92 and the SIG Sauer P250 9mm are similar priced at Galleryofguns. The PT92 costs at the local gun shop about 1150 US$ and the SIG about 100 US$ less than that from the FFL dealer. I may just get those guns at the local gun shop and may ask for an Discount at cash pay. besides that the gun shop lets you trade in the used gun.
Competition as dropped a Little the exagerated Prices.

Regards grip size of the SD9VE:
With my "real estate" on the SD9VE the gun weigths 1.4 Kg that is 49 oz with a few rounds in it. That is to light.
The grip is 1.29" thick and 1.99" deep (on the smallest part)
Compare that to your 1911 (I bet the 1911 is not much different from that so grip size may not be improved).

Are your 1911 grip dimensions different or are they somewhat similar?
