Shouldn't this guy be dead?

The real problem is the doctors probably want 20 or 30

grand for the operation. If this round is truly just under the skin of the scalp then anybody with an exacto knife could get it out. Got to be one ugly 'bump'.

Recon7:
I've got it. no lawyers, no judges, no courts, lets shoot him in the head and see if it happens again

alabaster:
Go ahead recon7!

I was going to say, it's probably not the caliber that's the problem, just that the guy didn't double tap him.

Okay, gentlemen, I want to make sure a comment is added here that even though you are entitled to your opinion on everything, you are not necessarily entitled to express that opinion in all situations. For example. on TFL, you will exercise some degree of caution, decorum, restraint, ... what ever you choose to call it ..., but the crude recommendation that "he needs to be shot again" or "he wasn't finished off" (my paraphrasing) is unacceptable here. Each and every one of us have opinions that the rest of us simply don't want to share, so keep 'em to yourself.

If you don't know what is acceptable in public, then shut up.

Well I would say there's two sides here.On one hand evidence is evidence search warrants for blood samples and fingerprints have been issued many of times. Then theres the other side of what happens if something goes wrong during the surgery. The way I see it is you could get a life threatening infection from having blood drawn, unlikely yes but could happen. And many mistaken identities have been proven with dna evidence.I think he and his family don't want it done because it would prove him guilty.I guess what I'm saying is being a criminal or trying to prove youre not you would do whatever it takes to be found innocent plus youd get a free surgery to have a bullet removed fromo your head that could cause problems down the road so why not do it.

"Primum non nocere" or "first, do no harm"

Is what Galen is quoted as saying in his version of the physician's creed, later misquoted as part of the hippocratic oath.
"First, do no harm" is still in doctor's minds today, and they won't cut this guy open against his will. The court has no case.

DNA, blood samples and fingerprints are non invasive ways of gathering evidence. Big difference between that and doing head surgery.

Yes, he should be dead... :(

Any of the other top three or four handgun cartridges...

It is perfectly acceptible to get a warrant for a search when you suspect evidence or KNOW that evidence is present...

The fact that he refuses the search even strengthens the grounds for a warrant...

There is a lot more than a "reasonable" purpose in this search and seizure...

Damn! Any of the other top three or four handgun cartridges... would have saved a lot of LE time and money, and made the whole point moot!

One hard head I suppose.
I recently saw an email that showed a guy who had been shot in the back of the head... with a broadhead... it penetrated the half inch thick bone and the point of the broadhead poked into the brain about 5/8 inch...

They cut the bone in a circle around the arrow and removed both bone and broadhead...

I think that's what they want to do to this guy...

He is obviously a criminal moron and in all probability will give somebody else the chance to light him up. Hopefully the next time it will do the job.

I for one do not observe liberal Peecee

Now that is out of the way, I was told once by a Ft. Worth Neurosurgeon that certain races skull bones are thicker than say caucasian's skull bone structure.

I have through the years observed old, defective ammunition lacking the power with which it was originally intended to produce,

Keeping the bullet in the actor's forehead may possible at some time be rejected by his body, fester and cause serious medical problems and perhaps death if not removed. And possible cause him embaressment by being nicknamed "bullethead" or something similiar.

We all have noticed that the law profession which sadly includes some ambulance chasers, shysters and dishonest foot dragging, anything for a buck, outright criminal loving scoundrels are continually trying to avoid the law and the Court's mandates by any little twist of words, misplaced comma or whatever.

Now where is a big, strong LEO and a couple of like types with some needle nosed pliers and a razor blade?

I blame the medical profession... they want every one to

believe it's difficult and expensive to remove. 30 years ago a doctor charged a friend of mine $3,000 to pull a BB out of his hand... I'd a done if for $20.

I think what someone needs to do is put the punk in lock up with two big dudes and they throw him on the ground.. one sits on him and the other squeezes that bumb like a pimple and 'POP' out comes the bullet!

Honestly, some of you guys make me wonder why I still come here.

But a Beaumont doctor determined that small pieces of bone were growing around the slug, and he did not have the proper tools in the emergency room to do it. The doctor said that removal would require surgery under general anesthesia and that no operating rooms were available.

I'm suuuuure that all of you stunningly brilliant surgeons with amazing reading comprehension were talking about cutting a bullet out of bone or squeezing it out like a pimple from the osseointegration, riiiiight?

Some days, I'm glad I was homeschooled by parents who had between them a Phd and a Masters in English. This is one of them. I might be slow in the mornings and I might make the grammar fairy cry, but at least I can usually comment on what I read without making a fool out of myself.

By not qualifying yourself, or this comment ...you just did!

Ahhh! That explains it! :barf:

Ah yes, do-it-yourself surgury. No problems there.

Did I ever tell you guys about the time I performed an unanesthatized kidney transplant on myself with just a sharped butterknife and a Leatherman multitool?

C'mon guys. This personal stuff just because you don't get someone to agree is just not getting it. Let's be civil or be quiet.
