Well this is sexy to me.

I must also disagree. Guns are not sexy. People are sexy.

That is my rifle, but not my wife. It is my wife's younger, taller, better looking cousin. And no, she is not available. Haha. :)

My wife uses "sexy" to describe certain guns & cars. In her words, if something looks exciting (but not sexually exciting, that would be weird), then it's sexy.

It's also contextual. Let's look at movies:

A WWII-era gun in Indiana Jone's calloused hands? Sexy.

The single action-esque gun used by Mal from Firefly is sexy. The same gun in Jayne's hands would become thug-like or outlawish.

A gun in Doctor Who's hands would be rediculous; he's a thinker, so what would he do with it?

007's guns would be harder to describe. Words like "quaint" and "genteel" come to mind, but not "sexy". Edit: I don't like the latest 007 because he's too harsh & brutish. Likewise, any gun in his hands becomes a tool.

...on the other hand, there might be something Freudian about guns being sexy or not; my wife likes guns with loooong barrels, while I like snubs with a big hole on the end. I prefer to think of this as coincidence.

The handgun that evokes both the words 'sexy' and 'classy' in my mind is a pre-war S&W Registered Magnum with a 3 1/2" barrel; it's the 1935 Duesenberg of handguns. As far as long guns go, a Holland & Holland Royal Grade Double Rifle in one of the African Dangerous game cartridges (.400 Nitro or larger) also qualifies as being both sexy and classy. Also, I've always had a thing for a M1928 Thompson Submachinegun.

Nothing more "sexy" in a handgun than my Python to me. It's got it all goin' on IMO.

... althought I'd give a close second to a 3 1/2" nickel Registered Magnum.

This is a reply for 44 AMP on the pictures he uploaded in post #52

I’ve never seen these guns before...
Can you give some details?

Thanks!

Morgo, why do you have to live half a world away where you can't protect me from zombies?

edit: also: Rep 1954: what's with the octagonal barrel on that SAA? It's kind'a freaky looking. I'm wondering the history/story is on that.

Kimber Ultra Covert II... my first love

I know this is an older thread, but first love is always first love! She was my first love... a Kimber Ultra Covert II that comes equipped with a Crimson Trace laser grip... it was a fine piece... it was like the horsy things in the movie Avatar... when we went to the range, we would CONNECT. Then she'd go BOOM and bullseye.. what a chemistry. But I was just a young boy at a time and didn't know any better... oh and of course I sold her and moved on to better things! Do I miss her? You bet, but she's in good hands in a new home...

@ Sharpsdressed Man

... Wow. That is ... um ... actually that is pretty sexy. Are those ladies custom-made?

Insofar as the use of the word sexy, I think it's kind of a silly word, so I use it to define anything I find aesthetically appealing, especially if it's something funny, like a 'fridge or a sofa or something.
