You are all entitled to your opinions

But sexy is a term I have never used about at gun. For me, the two just don't go together. I find some guns attractive, fine, neat, cool, beautiful, appealing, interesting, and a dozen more adjectives that express my appreciation, but sexy isn't on that list.

I have personally always found it laughable the idea that guns are a sex symbol. Maybe they actually are to some, but not to me. I'm not "compensating" for anything, and the concept that my gun has some kind of relationship to my anatomy is ridiculous.

Calling a gun "sexy" just seems to open that line of thought in some people, who cannot seem to avoid taking it to its ultimate juvenile conclusion.

After all, even Freud said "sometimes, a cigar is just a cigar".

Well 44 – your opinion is seemingly written by a male, for a male audience. I think the argument falls apart if you’re talking to a mixed gender audience, or to a man of my father’s ilk.

No need to quote Freud and tell me how your gun isn’t an extension of your … Though it is kind of fun to hear. Just tell us, and show us, a photo of the handgun you find the most beautiful – as you are comfortable with that word lol.
Looking forward seeing it.

Who said anything about the gun being an sex symbol? Seriously, can't the word sexy be used to just say beautiful? Also, attractive means one is attracted to that object, which can be just as sexual as sexy, can it not?

It's semantics, that's all. I use the word sexy to describe my car, or one of the few firearms I think are worthy, to express just how beautiful I think they are. Nothing sexual about it, I'm not trying to attach them to my manhood at all.

"Compensating"? ... That is compensating, not calling an object sexy. Got 24" wheels on your 85 Caprice, you're compensating. Stating that you think that car is sexy with those wheels? Well, that's just an opinion.

Playboypenguin, that Python needs to be Royal Blue. While a nickel Python is indeed good looking, something about that deep Royal Blue finish just screams sexy to me, lol. Of course I'm biased, my Python is Royal Blue.

Excellent retort digdeep74!

Same here! Any gun in my wife's hands is rather...amazing! I just wish she had more interest in rifles and shotguns...

Anyway, quick story. We (wife and I) were at a gunshow. She saw one of the compact Glock .45 ACPs. "Oooo, sexy!" She handled the gun, went silent, and we went home. A month later, as I'm leaving for a gun show with a friend (she was gun-showed out), she says, "Are you buying anything in particular?" I said, "Probably not, just kicking tires today." She said, "If you see one of those compact 45 glocks, pick it up for me would you?"

We scoured the show. Nada.

A month later, she shot her brother's full-size .45 glock. No dice; she hated the caliber (Ask her, not me! And she has shot enough to say what calibers she likes...)

Oh well. At worst I would have wound up w/ another carry gun... :)

I'm not him of course, but that's a Wildley semi-auto. I'd be willing to bet it's chambered for the 44 AMP cartridge.

Sorry, You'd lose that bet. The Wildey is a .45 Win Mag. I have a .44 AMP barrel on my wish list, but keep spending the money on other more important things.:(

Here's a comparison shot (I really need to get new pics)
44as.jpg

Bothe are .44s, Desert Eagle in .44 Rem Mag and Auto Mag in .44 AMP.
Notice the diference in the lines. The Desert Eagle is bulky, blocky, brute mass. The Auto Mag is (in comparison), slim, slender, and svelte. If you must use "sexy" for a handgun, I think this qualifies!
