Sellier and Bellot

It's good stuff. The brass is a little hard to reload tho' because the primer pockets are tight and not chamfered.

I use it in .44 mag and it shoots much more accurately than others in the same lower price range. I believe it to be good ammo and have never had one problem with it.

S&B is just fine, although I think their velocity ratings tend to be taken from longer than typical barrels just to sound more impressive for marketing purposes, especially in .357 Mag for example. But it's affordable and works well, so meh...

The hard primers have been a minor problem for me when shooting 357SIG.
A second strike would always set the round off, but this rules the ammo out
for anything but range use. I've not encountered this with their 9mm ammo,
however.

I often hear this ammo is clean, if a little hot, but man I shot about 300 rounds through my cz 75 on Sunday and I've never seen my gun dirtier than when I cleaned it afterwards

The only thing I noticed on Saturday was S&B powder smells similar to Wolf powder. I shot 300 of S&B and 200 or Wal-Mart Federal Champion during that range session. I didn't notice any difference other then the smell of the powder. You tend to notice things like that at an indoor range. Problems I had were none. Just lots of fun. Cleaning was about normal. I used 3 pistols that day. Now I need to get ready to shoot the rest of the last two cases I got before looking for the next good buy on range ammo. If this ammo turns up to be the best buy I can get at the time I will be getting a couple more cases of it again.

Been running a lot of S&B 9mm 115gr. JHP thru my 5946 and P7 lately! And I gotta say that it works well, and is accurate. But it is a little dirty as my P7 is slightly gummy at the end of 100 rounds. The 5946 couldn't care less, it just EATS! I intend to do some water jug test to see how well they expand and might even use it as a business load.

In my Detonics pocket 9 (9mm) S&B would lock up in the chamber almost every time after firing. I never had real problems with any other manufacturer. The Pocket 9 chamber has a ring for delayed blowback which the brass expands into. I believe it was this design along with something else about S&B 9MM which caused the problem, probably a little hotter load, not sure about the brass. But I would have to drive the empty brass out most every time. This was years ago, maybe they've changed the rounds since.

S&B ammo is fine. I have used .25, .40, and .45 without issue. It is the "cheap" brand my local range carries and they have it in almost every caliber. I usually get another brand ammo from Walmart or Cabelas due to cost, but in a pinch I'll buy at the range. Never had a FTF with S&B. Cleanliness and spent ammo are two words that shouldn't go together. I will admit however, I've only had feeding issues once on my little Bauer .25 into the second box of 50. By that time, the little stainless steel pistol (and my hand) looked like the first patch you push through a barrel during cleaning. That second box was with WWB though. S&B runs great in the Bauer.

There are 2 boxes left now from the first case I recently purchased. Problems, none.

Accuracy is good. 2 targets at 10 yards with 2 different Sig P226 folded slide 9 mm pistols.

Normally I won't do any better using ammo costing twice as much. I got mine from SurplusAmmo.com. Getting 2 cases at a time seems to be the sweet spot when you include shipping costs. It was slightly cheaper then getting some ammo at Wal-Mart.

Several thousand rounds of S&B 9x19mm, .38 Special, .45 ACP (and perhaps some others) with no problems whatsoever, maybe (but I am not sure of this) a few primer failures; however, this would be MUCH less than one percent. Perfectly good range/plinking ammunition, on a par with WInchester USA, Federal American Eagle, Speer Lawman, Remington UMC, and the like. Reasonably clean, accurate and reliable; I will continue to purchase, when it is the least expensive, quality option.

haven't used it in a pistol, but I bought some for my Mosin Nagant and the stuff shot more accurately and much cleaner than any other ammo I've shot with it. If it wasn't so much more expensive than that other mil-surp stuff, I'd only shoot S&B.
