Sellier and Bellot

I find enough S&B in my range pickups that it has it's own sort, IE I will load a batch with just S&B brass when I get enough. I've heard it's good quality, loaded a bit hotter than US stuff. The primer pockets are a tad tight...

It's good stuff. The primer pockets are a little tight the first time you reload them, but otherwise great brass, IMHO.

Never had a problem with it... but stopped buying the stuff

a while back....

why? even though the cost looks reasonable... once you figure in the cost for shipping....

So, I switched to Georgia Arms for two reasons.... can buy in bulk at my local gun show 4-5 times a year and more important... Not only made in America but made just one state over from me.

I believe S&B is made in USA as well. Edit -I believe I was thinking of Fiocchi which is an Italian Company that does manufacture in the USA.

S&B is a Czech company now owned by Brazillian Company - CBC - which also owns Magtech. I buy their shotgun buckshot ammunition - it works just fine.

good stuff!

i shoot it in my mouse guns (25 and 32acp) and it is one of the hotter factory loadings.

They (S&B) have been around forever and they produce quality ammo. Just not real well known in the states, but when I was stationed in germany, they were one of the go to brands over there for ammo.

Sellier & Bellot

I've used five different calibers with no problems. I have found this to be fine ammo for range plinking and target shooting.
Their 12 gauge 2 3/4 is too long for my 870 and will not cycle from the magazine, but it shot fine. Just needed a bit of help into the chamber.

I kind of like the spent brass; although some reloaders hate it with their progressive presses. The spent primer is a little harder to deprime. S&P uses some sort of sealer over the primer which has one guessing as to it usefulness.

Generally I rate it a step below Winchester White Box stuff. It does go bang but accuracy is not good. Neither is the accuracy of Winchester WB either for that matter. If all you are wanting to do is short range plinkin and drills it's fine, but reloads are better and substantially cheaper. For anything serious find better ammo.

S&B is good ammo for the price.

Currently using it in my TCP. I have 400 rounds of it left to shoot. Have had no problems with it what so ever. For the price you can't beat it. Plus I just bought several 100 rounds in 38 special FMJ for $13.99/50 rounds. Great price!!!

Generally GTG - I did have an issue with some .38 Spec flush seated wadcutters for my S&W 52-2. Too soft to cycle the gun - switched over to some of my handloads with nary a problem. Go figure.............

Overall, good ammo. They say they use military primers, which are hard primers compared to others on the market. My Taurus 709 has a hard time with them, causing several failure to fires. But my other pistols chow through them with no problem in both 9mm and .40.

fwiw: last time I checked their website, their .38SPL ballistics were +P without noting it on the box

I bought a couple of boxes thinking it was standard pressure range ammo for my snubbie.

First two shots told a different story.
