Seems John Kerry will run again in 2008.

candidates

I think people here know my views of Bush and Iraq. But to get back to Kerry and Hillary: why do the Dems always pick the absolutely most unpalatable candidate? Look at Dukakis--did they really think this guy could get elected? or Humphry? Hillary has zero chance of winning a national election, surely they know that. And Kerry is totally irratating to just about everyone. Obama is far too new and inexperienced to run for President in '08. Maybe later, but not so soon. Edwards is a likeable guy, and might have even won against Bush had he been on the top of the ticket rather than yucky old Kerry. But leave it to the Democrats to choose the person least likely to appeal to voters.

I'd be happy to vote libertarian if I thought they had a snowball's chance to win. But unfortunatley, they don't. The two major parties have all the money, and money rules.

Every president has made that claim. Lincoln had a congressman thrown in prison to prevent him from voting. He had all telegraph traffic monitored. No need to mention FDR and internment camps.

Nixon obstructed Justice. Clinton did also.

Does that mean that every President should be able to do so from now on?

There has to be a point, when violating the Constitution, and breaking the oath of office to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution" has to be re-established. We will not survive as a Representative Republic if we continue on this bogus path of "Special Powers" being Constitutional.

Anyone who claims it, is either mistaken, or ignorant of the words within the Articles of the Constitution. Find for me, within the Articles themselves, where the Constitution states the President has "Special Powers" within that document to violate the First, Second, Fourth and Fifth Amendments, and I will believe it. Because I can't find it, and I've read it fore and aft.

No "emanations from the penumbras" theories. I want to see specifically where it says the President has special powers not granted within the document. Because I cannot find it.

Conservative Repub,
And if I may, It's nice to see that you're not blindly following the party line either. It's okay for Republicans to admit that this war was ill-advised and poorly executed. Just as you said above, it's handing the reins over to the Dems even though they don't have a plan either.
If anybody should be furious at Bush it's the Republicans. He and his neo-con cohorts have trashed your party's formerly excellent reputation for foreign policy, fiscal responsibility, state and individual rights, and the preeminence of the Constitution.
I submit that these are the main reasons that people like Republicans. If they're taken away, what do you have left to run on?
I think you folks need to clean house. Kick the neos out and restore your roots.

Well, by the same token, there is nothing wrong with the Democrat Party that a little house-cleaning wouldn't take care of. Remove all the socialists, communists, idiots, gun-grabbers anti-Constitutionalists, appeasers, taxers, prolific liars, abortionists, homos, environazis (I'm sure I must be leaving something out) and the Democrat Party might begin to shape up.

I worked on Obama's campaign in Chicago a few years back. What do I think of him?

Ummmmm... well, he's in his mid 30's and he's already written 3 autobiographys. That gives you some insight into his personality.

My buddy Chuck Colbert (democratic big-wig) hates him with such a passion that he worked for Jim Oberweiss (super right-wing isolationist) during that election season.

He will do or say ANYTHING to get elected and hold onto his office, but that is not really any different than most politicians. My only beef with him is that he is a certifiable egomaniac who treats people like dirt unless they can do something for him.

I don't know where he stands on gun issues. I asked him about that when we were recording audio for one of his commercials and he blew off the question without giving me any sort of real answer. He seemed annoyed that I brought it up.

Yah that!!!^^^
Wait a minute---If you get rid of all that there's no democrats left!!!:D :p :D :p :D :p

I am sick of the term "democraps." All occurances of the word in this thread have been changed. It's not clever, it's not accurate, it's just puerile.

Oh, and this thread is closed for veering off topic.
