Russia crashes: Traces of explosives found

The AP is reporting that traces of explosives have been found in the wreckage. Reuters is reporting the same thing. ABC radio news has said that there were suicide bombers on board each plane and that they used an explosive that has been used by Chechen rebels in the past.

The group, Islambouli Brigade has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Good, maybe now Russia will drop a couple hundred tons of explosives on their secret military hideouts...oops, I mean "mosques", and it will finally be on. I mean, how long should we have to wait around for the next world war, anyway? Besides, after years of Communism and the Cold war, it will be interesting to have Russia and the U.S. fighting a common enemy again.

Incredible.

And with that, I'm going to lunch....

The problem with the Russians is they always go too far. Instead of Liberating Europe, they ended up conquering it. The Russians have also committed full blown genocide in some Chechen cities.

I wouldn't mind seeing a change in Russian military tactics and I hope someday the Russians finally start doing it right. Hopefully, Russian oil production will keep going up and all of these Terrorist/oil producing countries will go bankrupt. Its funny that during the cold war we got the Saudi's to produce cheap oil so the Russians lost out in the market and now.........

How much ya'll wanna bet this Russian government job is blamed on Chechen rebels or Al-Qaeda?

Impossible. Terrorists would never down an airliner, especially one belonging to a country that they're actively engaged in fighting. Only the Gnomes of Zurich would stoop to such a thing, using remote control technology gleaned from the UFO wreckage at Groom's Lake.

In the words of Gomer Pyle, 'SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE....' Here I was thinking it was the Hottentots or the Illuminati.

Here I was thinking it was the Hottentots or the Illuminati.

Naaah. Although we discussed the possibility at my last Bavarian Illuminati meeting in the secret bunker under Times Square, we deci... Wait. Did I just say that out loud? :o

;)

Without commenting on the conspiracy theories in general, I think they would go a little farther if they were at least internally consistent.

"this Russian government job"
"Excellent as usual airport security btw."

If it was a government run operation, then airport security didn't fail, right?

I wonder about that, and while were at it, how did they manage to fake up that theater seige with the female suicide bombers a while back? The one that was so well planned and managed that it turned into a fiasco that embarassed the Russian government severly. My god those Russians are tricky devils

It was planned that way, of course. Few rational people would believe the Russians would set themselves up to look bad, therefore it was a perfect operation. Even the conspiracists were in on it, though.

Those apartment buildings that were bombed in 1999, killing hundreds, had nothing to do with the Chechens Islamists. I have it on good authority,Al-Ahram Weekly, that is was no Islamists, but Vladimir Putin himself that set the charges.

Actually, Russian journalist Alexander Zhilin wrote an article in the Moskovskaya Pravda on August 25, in 1999 right before the bombings actually happened. He wrote that with the obvious decline of Yeltsin's health, a plot was afoot among rogue elements within the security services including some major "terrorist" attacks, to get things riled up before a normal election could take place.

Anyone familiar with our own Operation Northwood, and others like Operation Suzannah (otherwise known as the Lavon Affair co-called after Defense Minister Pinhas Lavon) shouldn't be surprized at such things. State involvement in "terrorism" is nothing new. The state of Israel has been linked to "Hamas" in it's beginnings (supposedly to "counter balance the PLO") and other regimes throughout history have used "terror" as a means of political manipulation as well.

Fear is one of the older political tools in the book.

Exactly. They probably let the hijackers through unimpeded like they usually do. How often do you read news articles about bombers caught by airline security? How often do you read about Joe Shmoe getting his urethra probed because they found a nailclipper on him?

Anybody ever hear of Berezovsky and his book FSB blows up Russia about the original Moscow bombings?

Yes. I've also read Chariots of the Gods, but remain skeptical that aliens contacted Ezekial.

Extraordinary allegations require extraordinary proof, not a Slavic game of "He said, she said."
