I sit here in my darkened underground room at an undisclosed location somewhere in the West, producing the material, while decisions of what to do with it once submitted are carried out at the corporate level 2000 miles away on the East coast.

Can we get a little snerk about what you get when Ruger says "tuned action?"
Hang on, lemme find my notes.
OK: Hammer & trigger shims, "hammer and trigger action surfaces are polished", springs & hammer strut polished, and the SA pull is a pound or two lighter'n one of my un-tuned older GPs.
I do have a 3-inch GP I carried for a bit with a lighter DA trigger, but that one was completely gone through.
Pretty much the same with the Cylinder & Slide four-incher.
Ruger does take some extra steps, but they don't have the time to do what a master smith can do, and the company has to keep the model to a certain price-point for volume sales.

Thanks Denis on descrip of the action work. Rugers, on the inside, have always intimidated me. And here in Idaho finding someone expert to tune a GP is close to impossible. Ruger has anticipated my need.
Got a holster lined up and HKS 586 loaders ready. Revolver league starts in 4 weeks hope MC is here for it's debut. If not, then the old S&W 67 will have to step in.

We have one gunsmith within 100 miles and he is a rifle builder. I delivered a 44 Smith 24-3 to him to have the barrel bobbed from 6.5" down to 5". One year and 3 months later the project was finished.
Nice work and at a good price, the wait was a little long.
There's a 1911 mechanic in Coeur dAlene but he's usually backed up on that platform.
If the action isn't to my liking after a 1,000 rds I will send it to Cylinder and Slide.
The IDPA format is pretty much DA and that works for me as an old Police DA revolver carrier and shooter. Our Range Master would gently "slap" us up along side the head if he caught us shooting SA on a PPC course. I actually shoot tighter groups DA than SA. Think it has to do with concentrating on the front sight and a clean break on the sear.
