These are pics of my Ruger Police Service Six 357 mag.and my Ruger Speed six with a 2 3/4 in barrel also 357 mag...both with action jobs

the "Six Series" is my favorite medium frame revolver format...

i really never got into the larger frame GP100 series ...with large frame revolvers I lean toward Dan Wessons

Well, I've already posted once, but I committed a HUGE faux pas by not posting pictures. So, here goes. Like I said, I really want to get wood on this gun and lose the Goodyears.

Well I have a few..

The top gun is my Speed Six .357 I put a Ruger DAO factory hammer on, Secret Service stocks, and did an action job including stoning the surfaces that contact on the hammer, trigger, and bolt. Finished with Microlobe. Wolf hammer spring and it's zero-zero tight!

Middle gun is the new Security Six. Cleaned it up but no action job yet. Notice the Bill Rogers grips. Only pair I've found in years!

Bottom gun is my 2 3/4 stainless Security Six, also with action job and Secret Service stocks (notice I changed it to a round butt.) It is totally zero-zero tight.

I gotta lay off these Sixes.... Sure not helping my bank account.

jframe,
nice photos. Also didn't know that Ruger offered rubber grips. I have been looking, with no success, for a set of Pachmayr "Professional" gripper grips to give better control when shooting. My hand is a little big for the wooden grips and my neighbor has the Pachmayr "Gripper" grips on his and they are a little big for concealment. I may contact Pachmayr and see if they know where I might find a set of their prof gripper grips and I didn't see any for the SS on their website. The Gripper set covers the backstrap whereas the Professional gripper set does not. :)

I don't have a pic of my Single Six but it is a SS snubnose version. I do have one problem with it while carrying. I've got to find a holster that will overcome the extreme top-heaviness of the gun. With that very short barrel and relatively large grips, the gun is butt heavy. Most holsters have the attachment point about where the mid-point of the gun sits. Being butt heavy, the center of gravity is now above the attachment and it then wants to pivot. I need a holster that has a belt attachment point higher up so that the center of gravity sits below the attachment.
