Ruger LCR 3"

Looks like Ruger just released a 3" adjustable sights LCR in .38. I really hope they release one in .22lr, would make an excellent little 8 shot kit gun at a very reasonable price, or something to throw in a pack on camping trips for some plinking. Keep your fingers crossed.

I struggle to understand why, given the looks, but I sort of like it...

I like the standard LCR as it seems to be a very tough little gun and so I suppose that this new incarnation has imbibed some of that quality in my eyes.

Yup, like I posted on an earlier thread titled "Yet another new Ruger", Can a 22 "Kit Gun" be far behind? Sure hope so.

I guess I didn't look hard enough to see if there was a thread on it already. But man do I wish that .22lr version comes out.

No denying that it won't win any beauty contests, but I still want one.

My 2" LCR X will soon have a companion... I emailed the CEO awhile back asking them to expand the X line (you're welcome :D ) as I don't pocket carry and prefer the exposed hammer... hope this is just the first step... stand pressure 148 HBWCs would make this a good kit gun, but a .22 in this configuration would be awesome.

That rear sight looks a little exposed just hanging out there but I really like adjustable sights and I definitely like almost everything Ruger so I'm sure it's okay.

Last time I checked out an LCR (.357) here in the Twin Cities it was $499. That's just for what it's worth.

I would like a 3" 9mm model. I will be on the lookout for one of these to check out. It would make a nice light weight carry gun but still has a 3" barrel to get a little better sight plane and an additional few feet per second.

Have any of you tried the triggers on those Lcrs? Very nice triggers. Wish my old sp101 had one as smooth.

I agree, I was pretty surprised when I first tried them. While I prefer J frames, I think out the box the LCR has a better trigger.

The 38 is marketed as a 38+P and they also have a 9mm version.
But the recently introduced 9MM is not the x model (exposed hammer), it has a snubbie barrel, and is without the adjustable sights.
Unless of course you have some inside information.
Maybe a LCRx long barrel 9MM will be Ruger's next installment in the introduction of the month club!

A great future in plastics.
Meh. It's a fad. Like the internet. ;)

I like the longer sight radius and the new grip. As Cheapshooter mentioned, this makes a neat kit gun: something to throw in the backpack or tacklebox for unexpected small critters, coyotes, or self-defense. It's light and relatively weather resistant.
