Robber's gun wasn't loaded, so clerk shouldn't have shot him. Huh?

CMOS do you have the URL for that shooting? It would be a great "no comment" rebuttal to the next lame-brain who says a person should cooperate instead of defending himself.

Did we all read the same article? Compared to most stuff I've read, this one is almost pro-gun!

They pointed out the perp's long criminal record.

They reported that the owner and clerk were within their the law when they opened fire. The fact that the perp's rifle was unloaded was irrelevant. I live in Florida. Pointing a gun, loaded or not, or even the BB gun they found on the scene, is considered threat of deadly force. Florida law recognizes a citizen's right to use armed response to prevent a violent felony and/or defend onself.

They interviewed a pro-gun professor who pointed out how "common and effective" defensive handguns are. They did NOT bring in any "experts" from the other side of the street to say that the clerk should have offered the perp therapy instead.

Sure, they also talked about the family's pain. Maybe that will motivate the mom and dad of some other juvenile perp to straighten their little punk out before they have to pony up funeral expenses. Take it all around, though, I see this article as pretty positive stuff. It's a moral lesson.

ok let me see if i have this right...
the BG had no money, so he could not afford a box of bullets, so if he had not be shot during this attempt, he would have made off with the cash, which would have allowed him to BUY A BOX, and on his next attempt, HE COULD HAVE ACTUALLY SHOT SOMEONE?
Jeez..makes my stomach turn
