Man, I'll have to think about this one. Let's see...

Four SAAs: All 4.75", one nickel in .45, two blued in .45, one blued in .44 Special with genuine ivory grips.

Two Pythons, 6" blue & 4" nickel.

Two Diamondbacks, both 4" blued. One .22 & one .38.

Two Police Positive Specials. Both nickel 4". One made in 1923 the other 1978.

Officer's Model Match (another pair, I must like my guns in sets of two?), both blued 6". One .22 & one .38.

New Service, 5.5" nickel in .45 Colt (what, only one?).

S&W M27s, 5" nickel, 8&3/8" blue, two 3.5" blue (one is pre-M27, actually).

M58 4", M20 (H/D .38/44) 4", M29 6.5", M24 4", all blued.

M15 4" nickel, M10 2" blued, Victory Model 5" blued, M48 8&3/8 blued, M13 4" nickel, M19 2.5" nickel.

M40 Centennial.

Taurus M94 4" blued.

Whew! I think that's it.

More DA than SA but it is oh-so-close:

DA REVOLVERS
  1. 6" S&W 686-1 (.357MAG)
  2. 4" S&W BLUE M57-1 (.41MAG)
  3. 2" RUGER SP101 (.357 MAG)
SA REVOLVERS
    1. 7.5" SS RUGER SUPER BLACKHAWK (.44MAG)
    2. 5.5" RUGER BLUE SINGLE SIX (.22LR)
Sine late January of this year I've added the M-57 & SP101 which nudged DA revolvers ahead. I'd have to take a good hard look at my wish-list to decide what the ratio could ultimately be. I definetly need to add .45ACP & .44MAG "N" frames. In SA, I need a .45COLT; I'd also like a Freedom Arms .454 - both of those shooters. And I need an old Peacemaker for a collector gun.

      Geezzz...I need more money...

I prefer DA revolvers. Why? Because I did most of my shooting with them. SA are fun, but Colts are so expensive and the joy of shooting a revolver until it gets almost too hot to reload has always been a joy.

A couple Rugers, a couple Colts, a handful of S&Ws...

I though I knew what was what until Jeff Cooper complained that hammerless revolvers (like my S&W 442 and 296) were not double action. Huh? His point is that "double action" means that the revolver can be thumb-cocked and fired or cocked and fired by operating the trigger. "Double action" doesn't accurately describe the way hammerless revolvers operate and "DA only" is an oxymoron. Hmmm...

I love my revolvers, more and more . . .

Five DA (three S&W "N" frames and two Ruger GP-100s) and zero SA. By the way, most of the rounds fired are SA (slow, deliberate and accurate).

JimmyDee,

Much as I like Cooper, that point of his proves that no man is infallible.

A "double action" trigger pull performs the double actions of cocking the weapon and fring it.

A "single action" trigger performs the single action of firing the weapon.

This dates back to long before even Col. Cooper was born.

Tamara,

Double action revolvers five to one at the moment, but my want list is all DA revolvers, so the ratio could increase!

I almost always shoot my revolvers single action, but revert to DA once in a while, just to keep in practice. :)

Though I prefer DA revolvers, I'm just the opposite with auto loaders. Have three SA's, and on DAO Taurus P111 (hate the damn thing and never shoot it) :barf: :D

Bill

Only have DA. I have been lusting after the new birds head Vaquero in .45LC but the ammo is pretty expensive and I haven't broken out the re-loader since I moved. Not sure which box it's in!

Hmm, now I've got to count....

DA: Ruger Redhawk 7.5" 44 Mag (saving to become a 475 Linebaugh), Ruger SP101 2 1/4" 357 Mag

SA: Gary Reeder Ruger Bisley 5" 45 Colt (5-shot), Ruger Super Blackhawk 7.5" 44 Mag, Ruger Flattop 4 5/8" 357 Mag, Davis Derringer 2" 38 Spc, NAA Black Widow 2" 22 Mag

Yep, gotta say more Single Actions

SA Rugers for hunting - 3

DA Smiths for match and defense - 7

Misc. brand DA's - 5

Looks like DA's are winning at my home too. (I'm feeling a definite need to buy a couple more SA's now for some reason)

I'm relatively new to mass revolver ownership but since I bought another safe just for handguns I have plenty of room for new toys!

Hmmm... 3 single actions, 1 double action. Two of those are black powder. And my DA was made in 1917. Call me "retro".

Damn I need to buy me some more revolvers.:D

I don't have many revolvers. :(
S&W, 3 DA
Ruger, 2 SA & 1 DA
Colt, 2 DA
Freedom Arms, 1 SA
North American Arms, 1 SA

I own only one wheelgun, a SW 29-4 with the 8 3/8 inch barrel. Go big or go home!;)
