That came from a misfortunate person that was having a lot of trouble with a new Sig. That is what their CS told him. Before they would take it for warrantee repair he needed to shoot 600 rounds to break it in.I have a few SIG pistols. I reviewed the manuals on the models 220, 227, 226 and TTT (1911) and find no reference to any of them requiring a "break-in" or even recommending one.
I have read, and heard the same from others.Sig Sauer says "600 rounds to break in my gun"
I bought a Sig Sauer p232 and all it's done is jam, jam, jam.
After changing ammo, checking the mags, the jamming continued. At any rate I called Sig Sauer and got a 'Gun Tech' who told me that particular model needed 600 rounds through it just to break in. So now I have $750 in a pistol, and have to spend $240 more in ammo, plus $100 in range fees.
Anyone ever hear of 600 rounds to break a gun in?
