Remington 700 5r mil spec

As far as it being a novely for some yes it may be true, but if you count the cost of things here in Australia here as follows. A reminton 700 SPS will set you back around 1000 dollars, a H&S precision stock will set you back around 500 dollars. if your not experienced enough to put the two together gunsmithing fees would be around 100 dollars. then theres time, stuffing around getting things ordered waiting for the gunsmith etc etc roughly adding up to $1600 for a light barreled action. or for the money i spent which for the rifle complete was 1675 dollars. with heavy barrel, H&S precision stock stainless action all i had to do was mount a scope and i was set. plus i get a rifle that is not as we say in this country "AS COMMON AS ARSEHOLES" so a bit more of something to have pride in. Im not a bench rest shooter yet, i a newbie who wanted something ready to roll with a bit of cool factor over your base models without spending 3-5k on a bench rest rifle for my first gun. i also like to go hunting and not much good having a bench rig if its your only gun

the cheap Federal 180gr i used to break in go for about $33 for a box of 20, Match stuff goes for aroung $60 per box. I will eventually end up reloading but for now ill stick to the cheap stuff until i can afford all the reloading gear and also when i get to be a bit of a better shot than i am now.

Great to know it worked out for you, Faboy, despite all the off-topic posts and rudeness from some on here. If only Remington would bring out the 5R in some other chamberings - a .260 or even a .243 would fit my needs - that'd be my next rifle.
We could use some of your (level-headed) kind over on this side of the ocean. Wish you well.
