Don't buy used brass unless you know what it is -- especially when the cartridge has been known to have more than one case length out there, for a over a decade.Same condition exists with their 444 Marlin Leverevolution. Should be 2.25", but it is actually 2.065. I use that brass for all my Bellm and JDJ chambers and that don't cut it!
Hornady should not deviate from SAAMI spec even if they use a rubber tip! 'nuff said.
There are only two ways to get the short brass: By buying Leverevolution ammo. Or, by obtaining used brass from someone else that bought Leverevolution ammo.
All component brass and other ammunition have full-length cases. If you need full-length cases, then obtain them in a manner that allows you to know what you're getting. Don't play the lottery with 'once-fired' and then get mad when you lose.
If Hornady's choice to offer an alternative product has made you mad enough that you don't even want to deal with them any more, then buy Starline.
