I tolerate it, but can't really say that I like it.

I would think, that if somebody actually likes recoil..........they aren't shooting enough.

I shoot firearms from .22 to 10 ga with turkey loads and some healthy handgun loads. I understand and accept recoil as a fact of life but if given a choice I'd be happier with low recoil and low report. Recoil and loud report causes flinching in almost all of us resulting in poorer accuracy in 99% of us.

In pistols I like the bang. Had a 40 s&w and it just didn't do anything for me, go rid of it. Have a .380 and looking to unload that also. I just always find myself reaching for the .45 acp or .44 mag with a big smile on my face.

My next purchase, hopefully soon, will be a .41 mag. So I guess, yeah, I like the boom. :D

If they could make a reliable gun that shot 357mag or 10mm, the weight of my S&W 642 and had some gizmo that gave it the recoil of 22LR, I'd probably buy it regardless of cost.
Put me down for one of those!

Massive recoil and putting up with it is neither manly or necessary. It leads to flinches, shoulder issues, neck issues, even retina issues......what's to like about any of that??????

But remember OneOunce ....we've slayed enough dragons in our life ...and in the process we learned a little bit ....

Its always better to shoot well .... for 10 days in a row ... than have a flinch on day 3 ...( and choke ..)...in a match or a tournament !

but I used to think I was Invinceable too .../ now I usually wear gloves when I shoot a .44 mag revolver ( and my surgically reparied elbows, my rebuilt shoulder and my arthritic hands appreciate it ).....but being built like a Buffalo ...rarely do I ever find someone insinuating I was being a ***** for wearing gloves either ...

I don't mind the recoil from my Colt .45 or the 357. I have a Marlin lever action rifle chambered in .44 mag thats fun to shoot. The one I don't like is the kick from my Russian 7.62x54. That one hurts!!

It depends, for me. Some days I just want to plink, some days I want to thump myself around with some monsters.

By and large, moderate recoil, I suppose. I love .45's and my newer .327, but don't really shoot .357's or .44's. I was surprised how much recoil the .327 has, but it is still quite enjoyable.

I love a good .44 mag! Recoil is fun in a fun gun, however, I prefer less in my carry gun - usually a .45 or .357. There is that matter of getting back on target, especially if there are more than one target to address.

Recoil is recoil. Now, I sure as hell won't go out of my way to damage my arm with hot loads or some crazy cannon I'll never carry.
Regards,

A lot depends on the gun. I shoot a lot of 44 mags and in my 629's I enjoy shooting them. But the one gun I hated was my first magnum gun. A 4 inch S&W 19 with wood grips.
That little piece of *&%*^% beat me to a pulp. I remember 30 some years ago buying the gun and 5 boxes of Federal something or other and I went out and shot two boxes through the gun. At that moment if some one had offered me $5 for the gun they could have had it.
I got rid of it and picked up a 5 inch 27. With pachmier grips that thing shot nice.

after shooting .223 all day i like to shoot something with a little more kick
makes me feel...manly :p
just being honest

I liked recoil as a young man. I don't find it painful, but will tell you this: arthritis is less fun than I was told it would be. I've been thinking about asking for a refund.

Ditto...
