PX4 Storm - Attractive or Butt Ugly?

I think it's ugly in a 1990's retro-futuristic sort of way.

It's a basic DA/SA service pistol, just with some fancy lines, curves, and slide cuts to disguise the blockiness of it.

They aren't too ugly for me to own, however, and by all accounts they are great pistols. It's just that they don't offer anything I find terribly compelling.

I think they look good. A modern polymer with just enough physical cues to let me know it's a Beretta without being a poly duplicate of the 92. Kinda like the modern takes on muscle cars.

I gotta say, mine does shoot well. It really does tame the .40 down to 9mm levels of recoil. I'd carry it on a regular basis, but I'm more comfortable with my 1911s in .45.

Personally I think it's the 2nd best looking poly on the market. I own a Sarsilmaz K2P, totally different looks than the Storm. Now I agree looks is not the most important but they say Hi Points are reliable but I could never date one.

Hate the looks. Ever since Beretta started consulting a "design" firm and made it into a fashion statement, their guns got worse. The 9000 was a kludge. The PX4 is an ungainly block. Nice shooter, but it's second only to a Hi Point in ugly.

What he says about the 9000s. I had one for a while, biggest piece of junk I ever owned. PX4 is not bad, I'd buy one. It's no 92, but not as bad as the APX. I think you did better with the FN as far as looks go.

I never understood why so many of the polymer guns were ugly. I don't see any reason why they should look much different that any other gun, but so many of them seem to be bizarre looking for no real reason. Every time I see one that is at least "OK" looking, it pleases me for some reason.

I don't think the PX-4 even comes close to Hi-Point in the ugly race. It's all right looking.

Beretta has a couple of odd looking poly pistols now. I think theyre not bad looking and feel pretty comfortable. I wish the PX4 was just a few ounces lighter though.

I think they look awesome. P99 first, PX4 second for the looks department.

A few things that keep me from picking one up: the grip is near up and down "T" shape, fairly bulky, and a decocker/safety on the slide is just terrible-especially the known largeness of the PX4's without the $80 slimmer ears.

It's too easy for manufacturers to throw all kinds of "style" and textures into polymer frames. Not nearly as easy with steel, or cost effective. There are good looking examples out there.

DanPop, I'll 2nd the K2P. Great looker IMO

I'll also say looks do matter. If I don't like the way a gun looks, I don't know that I'd give it a chance. Not the only thing that matters, but important no less.

The PX4 is one of my .45 ACP semi-autos.

It has the same pounds at the trigger, but grittier trigger feel, as my Sig P227, which has buttery double-action pull.

The Storm has a longer "pull" than the Sig, and I added a Hogue slip on grip to the Storm.

All that being said, I shoot the Beretta better than the Sig.

A lot depends on personal hand-to-handgun feel and ergonomics.

I think the PX4 looks great. Best looking gun in my collection (and most accurate).

Never really liked the looks of Glocks (own 2), or the new H&Ks and Rugers. Or for that matter the newest Beretta.
