Put up pics of your hunting rifles, especially turnbolts...

this is my man cave ;)

also collect pocket watches & vintage wrist watches...:)

I don't have many newer pictures... way too busy lately, but this poorer quality picture shows my .243 Ruger 77 with the custom inserts, & new 4- 12X BDC Prostaff 5 scope... the custom Remington 700 in 6.8 SPC below it, also wears a Prostaff 5, albeit with a mildot reticle...

I'll have to do a new group photo of this rack soon...

I've given away a lot of rifles over the past ten years as grandkids get older. I want each of my grandkids to have one rifle used by me, and I'm on track to make sure that they all get one that I've used.

The one that I'm keeping for myself is the one I've used for the past several years. It's fairly accurate, although I"m not going to win any benchrest comps with it. It's not an exotic caliber, It has a plain-jane stock. It's a Savage 110 in .30-06 with a stock I whittled and cut to fit me, and it's one the kids will have to argue over when I'm goine

Rifles come and rifles go, but this one is mine.

Not you're typical hunting rifle but I love this stinking thing & plan on taking care of varmints or getting some small edible game with it this winter. :)

I like your idea. My grandfather a retired gunsmith now living in a VA home did the same. All children, grandchildren, great grand children and married in spouses were giving one rifle or shotgun.

I used mine yesterday. Sporterized Remington Lee 30-40 Krag built off the action with a hand carved stock. At $40 a box of shells I reload for it just the same way my grandfather showed me and with many of his tools.

A CZ 550 in 416 Rigby. I use this when we are bear hunting. It comes out when someone wounds one and we have to go in close cover to finish things. I take it because it's the only rifle I've used that will lay a bear out.

This my goto rifle. It started life as SS Model 70 Classic and then got a #4 weight, sporter contour, Pacnor SS supermatch grade barrel screwed on, The action was trued, the bottom metal was changed out with Williams SS one piece with the Obendorf style plate release, a Williams spring steel extractor, a Mcmillan "hunter" stock, topped with a Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x32 scope on Nightforce rings. The picture is from earlier in its evolution and shows it with a different scope, the original stock and bottom metal.

This one is a Model 70, Classic Featherweight in 6.5x55. It is absolutely in as new condition.

This a Belgian FN Browning Safari Grade in 3006 from 1959. The stock eventually cracked on it and I but a MacMillan stock on to lighten it and got it reblued. This is a very well made rifle.

Westcoaster, those have me drooling, espec. the 70 FW in 6.5x55.

The second one there, being a take-down that fits in that case, may be the coolest & prettiest rifle I've ever laid eyes upon.

taylorce and jmr40, these two both look like your cup of tea:

Picher,

You wrote above: "My busiest rifle these days is the Rem 700 Light Varmint SF, .223 Rem. "

What are you shooting in the summer up there besides targets?

Here in my area of CT thru NY & VT the woodchucks are gone since the coyotes came.

Haven't been game hunting in quite some time - but, just in case.

Sako Finnbear AIII .30-06

Mostly do a lot of varmint control with these:
CZ527 Varmint .223

CZ452 Varmint .17HMR

Zastava Superior II .22lr
