I honestly don't wipe them down as often as I should... no corrosion issues, as there are 2 dehumidifiers running all the time, the air is drier than in the rest of the air conditioned house... but I'm still doing finish carpentry, ( though I've really tried to cut down on cutting wood in there ) I still or did get fine wood dust on everything... but I've really limited the cutting, since I got my load benches set up in there as well, & will be putting a couple hepa air filters in each room, to cut down on any dust...
I had posted about what to hang the guns on, as I was originally looking at the brass / felt hangers, but settled on my home made racks, that use 1/2" hardwood dowel pegs inserted into angled holes on 2 bys screwed to the wall... various holes allow for lots of adjustment...
BTW, there is a similar rack for milsurps, & another for CZ / BRNO rifles, ( which also qualify as hunting rifles ) a smaller one for single shot carbines, & a wheeled 2 X 8 ft double sided vertical rack for longer guns like single shot rifles, muzzleloaders, & shotguns... plus another pair of racks for my CAS guns ( several double barrel shotguns, several lever guns, & my single action revolvers )
I didn't mention my modern & antique revolvers... if you look at what I have here, the gun room was long past due, took me 2 years, & lots of concrete & steel to put together...
BTW... MYSTRO... you may notice, that JOC rifle is not in that picture... but will be in the one I'll post later... she now wears a nice Luepold scope, Luepold bases & engraved rings... & fits nicely above my 100th anniversary of the 30-06 version of the Remington 700
BTW #2... tahunua001 love the Arisaka... I have a factory carbine in my milsurps, but it has a cut down rifle stock on it... I'd love to find the bayo, & business end hardware, for a carbine, to fit on the end or ??? but the barreled action is perfect, still has the mum... got a couple 100 Norma brass & getting ready to do some loading for it...
