pros and cons of .32acp

Whew! I tried to read to the end of this thread. Got bored around page 4. My opinion, stepping up from a .25 Beretta; a .32 Walther ("with a delivery like a brick through a plate glass window") was good enough for James Bond. It ought to be good enough for anyone!!

I guess the video masters and mall ninjas don't realize that presenting a gun of any kind tends to stop an attack because they are cowards in the face of resistance. Of course, the bad guys asks the caliber of the gun you just pulled so he can know if you will annoy him or kill him.

I'm in agreement with this.

Time and time again, I see the "Dodge City" mentality appear in these forums. The fact is that 99% of incidents will be defused by the appearance of a gun on the scene, and the perp isn't going to stop and ask: "Gee, What calibre is that?" Perp only sees a gun appear and perp runs.

The odds are that you will never face the remaining 1% of incidents, but, if you do, a .32 will work just as well as any other weapon.

I'll tell you that the .32 Auto in your pocket/waistband

beats the .357 Magnum/10mm Auto you left in the house. I adore my 10mm pistols Witness/Glock/ Original Dan Wesson Razorback. Yeah, I know that my Crvena Zastava isn't the "biggest, most powerful" pistol in the world, but no one in their right mind wants to be shot in the face with 6, 75 grain Buffalo Bore FPHCL bullets, within a matter of seconds. This would likely kill, or cripple, (more than likely the former) in short order.

Whirlwind06,

I told him I had a P3AT and was rather fond of it, after which he advised me not to shoot anyone lest I tick them off.

I asked what he carried. "A Sig 220, .45ACP".

"Let's see it". I said

He hesitated. "Well...It's out in my truck".

I patted my pocket and replied "Exactly."

Fantastic :D
