My choice would be a 30-30 and a 410 single shot shotgun. As long as I have mt reloading kit I can make ammo for about any situation I need. Those two guns should run around $400. That leaves $200 to find a ruger single six 22. Maybe not quite on budget but I could get close. And I already have all of that stuff anyway.
To me prepping is not about getting in gunbattles. Its about having the tools to provide food and some defense. I will leave the big shootouts to you guys. And an air rifle may be one of the best choices of all for putting some food on the table without letting anyone know you just scored a kill. I guess I am more in the Mel Tappan camp.
