Post where you keep/store your firearms! *Pics only*

My collection's nearly all handguns so I configured my safe accordingly. My Sporter HBAR is stored elsewhere, along with the boxes, extra mags and ammo and I keep a Double Eagle handy in the house for HD.

Do you like the bags for storage? My personal experience with them is that they do more damage than good when storing guns long term.

i actually can't take a pic of mine. there isn't enough room around it to take a pic.

i didn't have room for the safe before i bought it but by some miracle (and a lot of practice playing tetris) i was able to squeeze it into a closet. i can't even open the safe door all the way.

i figure if a thief is rummaging threw the house and happens across it, they would probably give up after a few mins of trying to move it.

i also keep most of my ammo behind another lock. only have enough in the safe to fill each gun once, minus the rifle.

After I ordered the safe, I placed a bulk order with BoreStores. I thought about racks or other means to stack them and decided to go with BoreStores. Each shelf has at least 10 guns, the "floor" shelf has 9. They provide a level of cushion to prevent dings and scrapes (not that I toss them in safe or anything!) yet they breathe so as to prevent moisture build up. If you look carefully I have two desiccant packs, plus I rigged up two 18" GoldenRods on the floor shelf, one in front, one in back (the safe is toasty warm when you open it up!). Plus, each gun is wiped down with EEZOX. I've had this set up for years and have yet to find a trace of corrosion on anything - it works well.

Obedient Wives

Mo, you must be kin to me, my safe looks like yours. The other guys on this site must have obedient wives to keep everything so neat and orderly. I know I need a larger safe, but man, you can buy a lot of guns for the price of a good safe.

except, without a good safe, some ne'er-do-well might relieve you of all those nice guns

When I used to do some work at Academy Sports there was a steel cabinet like the one in my pic that the manager had lost the key to. The receiving crew and I tried to break into it and I assure you it was not easy. We finally got into it by using a steel cutting blade on a circular saw and cutting all of its locking points. It is not the greatest gun safe but if someone wants something out of it and doesn't have the key they would have to do some serious work for it. I moved that cabinet into the master closet earlier today, bolted it to the wall and organized it a little better. I have only one gun that would be easy to take and even it is locked in a pistol box, I just can't bolt it to anything where I keep it. Some the guys here have some serious collections with many thousands of dollars worth of guns. I just never let my collection get that big. I tend to binge and purge. I just purged in anticipation of the next wave of guns to come my way over the next year. I know some say never get rid of a gun, ever, but buying selling and trading guns is just in my blood, I assure you I come by it honestly.:o

Nice Penguin. I'll have to look into making a setup like yours.

Tailgunner - I assume you did the same thing as Penguin?

I'll post pictures inside my gun room in the morning. 150 + + +
Just found my camera and I have to figgure out how to post again.
Still have to get a Lathi and 1917 Eddystone this year.
