post a picture of your favorite revolver

I know as well as anyone, it can be hard to pick a favorite... so you revolver guys ( & gals ) lets see a picture, & a description of, as tough as it may be to pick, your favorite...

I have many revolvers, double action, single action, many custom, a couple high end, & a large quantity of Rugers, small bores, & big bore magnums... & this is almost painful to say / show... but this pair of 51 Navy conversions ( they're the same, so I'm calling them one ;) ) chambered in 38 Long Colt, are actually my favorites...

both started life as new Pieta 51 Navy cap & ball revolvers, both had .357 hammer forged barrel liners added, & were cut to 4"... I wanted to keep the classic look of the loading levers, so they were shortened, & the pivot point changed, to push them tighter against the barrel... since they are cosmetic, the ends were beveled, & screwed to the bottom of the barrel... cylinders are 4140 alloy, & have 1/2 moon cuts to extract the empties... we opted for a more home spun conversion look, & did not use a loading gate, just deepened the loading slot that was already there for caps... all custom parts were fire blued... barrels were dove tail cut, & brass sights ordered from Track of the Wolf...

they just have a balance that's near perfect, shoot incredibly, & I just love the look... I'm sorry I don't have better pictures of them... but since your tastes will be different... lets see your favorite revolver...

I couldn't seriously choose an absolute favorite, but this one does come to mind as a contender. I looked for a 4" 1950 4th Model Target 44 Special like Skeeter carried for 25 years. Never did find one. But I did find a pair of 5" 4th Models for sale. Bought them both.

Currently, this the one:

It's just a plaything so far, with mods to come, but this one is for serious business:

But, back in the day, when I was younger, nothing compared to a Ruger 3-screw SBH. Used to carry it for bear protection in a Bianchi shoulder rig when salmon fishing in Alaska long ago. My son owns it now.

Smith & Wesson - Combat Masterpiece!

It doesn't matter the caliber,,,
Although I do like the .38 a wee bit better than the .22.

In my not-so-humble opinion,,,
The Model 15 is the finest .38 revolver ever made.

Of the revolvers I own,,,
It is definitely my personal favorite.

I would have said one of my Ruger revolvers a couple of weeks ago.

But.. that was before I picked up this 1989 Taurus High Gloss model 669 .357 magnum with 6" barrel. The trigger is smooth as can be, locks up tight, has lovely deep bluing and is a tack driver. What a fantastic firearm... Changed my opinion on Taurus.. well, at least the older ones... No crazy locks anywhere, no MIM parts anywhere... just a solid revolver all around. This purchase has me looking at older mid to late 80's Taurus revolvers and what I'm seeing is great guns that can be picked up on the cheap.

Indeed, very tough to choose.

But since I have to choose my favorite, it is my S&W m29-2, 4" bbl, factory combat grips, box, docs, and cleaning tools.

Nothing says bada** like a 4" 44mag. I love the portable horsepower.

It might be one of my Pythons or Model 57s tomorrow, but it's my MR73 today. (Seller's photos below since I still haven't taken my own.)

^^Funny thing about that eh??^^ ;)

I do have a couple stainless models that I carry more frequently. I like em fine. But it's hard to beat the looks of old school polished blue. :)
