Dear Sgt. Schmidbauer,

If you would do me the honor, I would like to shake your hand some day. I had you all wrong (not my first mistake, even today). You're obviously a great guy, and somebody on whose "wrong side" I'd rather not be. (Reminds me too much of that Gunnery Sgt played by Clint Eastwood in that movie I think was named "Pork Chop Ridge?") I had to laugh at your expression "I flew high and to the right". I didn't mean to "slice" you with my initial posts!

Better to have my foot in my mouth than yours!
Oscar

Oh my heck - I just read my last post -
about DC's remark.

I ment to say that its not right to dress the littel ones up like tey are going out for a night of work... NOT that DC was wrong!!!
She hit the nail on the head!

I am sorry for my poor articulation - I was in the middle of a stomache flu when I was typing that.

Hey, have I mentioned my new book? It is called:
MEN ARE FROM MARS and WOMEN JUST NEED TO DEAL WITH IT!

DC that what I have been thinking exactly but people think I'm crazy when I say she looked like a little hooker, while dressed that way. I think dressing your kid up as a street walker does nothing for your credibility, IMHO.

Awright, I'm mad as hell & am taking off the gloves and coming out swinging!
David is a GOOD FRIEND (not just an aquaintance) of mine, lives just down the road. I know all his family, and he's a good father, a good husband, a good man, and a damn good Marine.
If you find these photos offensive, I suggest you may already be a victim of the same kind of faulty thinking which has lead the anti's to be what they are. POLITICAL CORRECTNESS IS POLITICALLY INCORRECT IN THIS COUNTRY! WHO THE HELL SAYS ANYONE HAS THE "RIGHT TO NOT BE OFFENDED?"
If this gives the anti's more fuel, so friggin' what? Let's give 'em so much fuel we shove it up their rectums 'till it winks at 'em every time they brush their teeth. Stuff like this will let 'em know that we believe, to the very core of our being, that our values are good and honorable ones to passed on to our children. Through this, they will have to realize that even if they win a few rounds here and there, there's another generation waiting in the wings, a computer savy gen. which has been raised in this socialist modern US and has rejected that crap and is ready to do battle with whatever tools are appropriate for the particular battle. We won't give up, and if we instill the same values in our children, neither will they. HOOYAH!
EN GUARDE, ANTI'S! THE NEXT GENERATION AWAITS! BE WARNED!

We must all hang together, or we will surely hang separately.

Gee, Thanks Gary. Let me be the first....

"Damn Gunny!!! Didn't your marksmenship instructors teach you anything about firearms safety?!?! You wife is pointing that gun directly at you!!! AND her finger is on the trigger!!! Haven't you heard the four BASIC rules of gun safety?!?!? WHAT was going through your mind! If I ever encounter you or your wife at a range I'm going to beat feet out of there as fast as I can. I enjoy my life too much to let some ignorant Jarhead and his wacko wife put it in jepordy!!!" ;)

RAJ: Thanks for the vote of confidence. However, there was no need to shout (though I was initially going to do the same thing). Wonder what kind of responses Tutuman would get? LMAO

Okay, guys, calm yourselves. The question has been resolved - before your bold-faced defenses even! ;)

Both sides of the question have good points. The more dangerous and foolish we appear, the more influence we lose. But rolling over and playing dead ensures defeat.

As for the four rules, they're good rules. But, under very, (must I say) VERY controlled situations there are exceptions.

In law enforcement classes we frequently point firearms at each other. But this is done ONLY when all ammunition is put on a table on the other side of the room and all firearms are checked by BOTH instructors as well as EVERY student involved in the exercise.

By the way, we ask if anyone would prefer to ban ammunition from the class. (Grin) Ever try to get ammo away from a cop? ;) That's why we put it on the table rather than outside in the cars.

The other exception is for photographic purposes. Sometimes, for example when the firearm will be fired, the picture can be taken with a mirror. (The negative is then flipped to give the proper perspective. There also are other methods using an electronic flash or remote triggering of the camera, etc.) But when the firearm is NOT going to be fired, and EVERY person in the exercise ensures it is totally without ammunition EVERY time it is picked up (handled), AND it is carefully supervised, I can live with it.

I haven't supped with the good Col. Cooper so I am forced to rely upon the lucky TFL members who have done so (or studied under him) to suppose what his opinion might be.

This thread is now over 100K so I'll close the thread. Feel free to begin a part two.
