What would you pocket carry? A small auto? Snubnose revolver? Subcompact Glock or XD? Both my P3AT and my Glock 26 work very well in both trouser and jeans pockets. But I keep getting this little bug in my ear to carry a snubbie "wheelgun". So many options! What to do,what to do?

Today there are more than enough pocket gun options to make a man dizzy. I just went through the same ordeal and ended up going with a snub.

One thing about the Glock is I have 10+1 rounds of 9mm. Throw in the spare mag and you've got 21 rounds! The Kel-Tec is much smaller, but less powerful and holds fewer shots. The revolvers are 5-6 shots total and reloads can be problematic (speedloaders or speedstrips). But, revolvers are also much more reliable.

I pocket carry a S&W M36 in a Tagua holster in my right front jeans pocket with a Bianchi Speedstrip in my watch pocket.

I can't fit my PPS, my S&W 640, or my Vbob in my pocket, so I'm buying a Rohrbaugh. I envy you guys who can fit a doublestack in your pocket, I can't even get one iwb very comfortably. Everyones built differently and wears different clothes though, I guess. No way anything other than a micro gun will fit in my levi's.

I have yet to find a pair of "regular" jeans that will pocket carry anything other than a derringer. By "regular" I mean jeans that don't have those oversized punk looking pockets or that look loose enough to put two people in.

Same here, im 5'8 180 and I dont wear baggy jeans. Even carrying IWB with a quality holster such as a cross breed my model 60 and ppk dont conceal as well as I hope in summer and spring clothing. Unfortunately the only true pocket guns available in Massachusetts are the seecamp and bodyguard 380 so ill be picking up one of those soon.

While I have carried my 638 in my right front pocket often, with certain pants I am always worried that someone standing behind me can peek in and see it.

No such problem with the LCP, so that has taken over pocket duty.

I never truly pocket carry. I use a pocket holster (Desanti) with my P32 and even sometimes use a Galco with my NAA, although the NAA is a lot safer to carry in a loose pocket. On the P32, too many things can go wrong with one in the pipe, no trigger safety, & no holster.

My favorite for winter is my Glock 17 with 16+1 and a reasonable punch. I use a half holster which conceals well beneath a vest or jacket. In the summer when I dress lighly, I prefer my Taurus .380 because it carries well in a pocket.

my glock 26 comes with me most days. a 5 shot snubby is about the same dimensions and I like my ruger sp101 but it's a bit heavy for everyday. I would like to get a ruger LCR. my LCP go with me a lot too.

I voted pocket auto because my LCP sees a lot of duty. I also carry a Charter Arms Undercover strong side front pocket in some pants. Desantis nemisis for the Undercover and an RKBA pocket holster for the LCP.

@bighoss, +1 for the Glock 26. I also would like to get an LCR for when I can't carry the Glock and don't want to carry the Kel-Tec. In an ideal situation, I'll be able to carry my primary plus at least one backup!
MAN, I LOVE MY GUNS!

I'm in the subcompact crowd. I read recently an article for a new sig sauer in 9mm that fits this category, kinda. There are a few "in-between" the Kel Tec and the Glock subcompact categories as well. Anyway the guy writing the article made a good point. When Obama got elected a bunch of people went out and bought guns. They didn't know a whole lot about guns, but went with what they knew. So first they bought this enormous gun and soon hated it and started carrying a tiny gun to "swing the other way". And now they are finding that the subcompact (insert equivalent name here) is the way to go. It's funny because this is pretty much what I've done.

I pocket carry an AMT .45 backup. If I could find a .40 caliber auto that is a tad bit smaller, I'd opt for that....but I haven't found one of those yet.

FWIW, I don't like pocket carrying a Glock - its just not a consideration for me. Fine for home defense - just not interested in carrying one.
