Personal Preferance? Semi-auto or Revolver

I own semi auto's, but prefer revolvers. I'm old school, revolvers, are old school. I guess I'm just old.

I like both, have both, and enjoy shooting both. I've only ever carried a semi-auto.

That said, and all practical considerations aside (I'm sure 99% of the members of this board already know all the pros and cons of both, inside & out):

There's just something about a revolver that "speaks" to me, if you will. I can appreciate a fine semi-auto, and I'll buy one to fill a specific purpose. But if you were to ask me what was my favorite gun, it would be a revolver every time. Maybe it's the simple elegance? The curves? How it's loaded and unloaded? The appearance of ruggedness? All of that and more, I suppose.

and depending on my mood and what I wear kinda helps me decide if its a 1911 or my 696 357, or my XD 9. Now If I am heading out on thw Hi-way on my Harley it's my 1911 in a shoulder hoslter.

I have also tried to like revolvers but stick with semi-autos.

For primary carry i like a Colt Gov't or Combat commander. As far as back up goes sp101 is my favorite, For home defence my gp100 is king. I like both, use both and carry both.

I just can't decide. I like both and so I own both.

I definately like revolvers to look at, and sometimes when in less stressfull sceenario I carry them, and sometime when handgun hunting. However, because of where I live and availability issues, I have grown to like the semi autos more, and even more partial towards machine pistols .

As much as I enjoy shooting my GP100, I can't say that I like it as much as my CZ-75B and 1911's.

Like them for what? For carry, probably semi-autos though I carry a J-frame sometimes. For nightstand, a revolver. For range use, semi-auto (a 1911). For collecting, revolvers.

So, yes I waffled on the answer.

I like both guns equally but I prefer the "Rooty Tooty Fresh 'N Fruity" at IHOP over waffles.
