I own and enjoy both (and eat waffles on occasion), but I do love my revolvers most of all. Nothing looks quite as good, shoots quite as well, carries quite as nicely, or feels quite as right as a K or N-Frame S&W.

Crap, now I've got a hankering for a nice, thick Belgian waffle with fresh strawberries and whipped cream.

I look on handguns as tools. Therefore, the purpose determines which tool I prefer.

Since the poll did not state any purpose I chose the middle ground. I like both.

I find that revolvers and semi-autos, in their many incarnations, both have much to be admired.

I've got a bunch of both, but revolvers have been my go to for just about everything from fun shooting to CCW to home defense for decades.

I've got a revolver in my nightstand and another one in my desk drawer.

I prefer revolvers, but that doesn't stop me from appreciating some good bottom-feeders as well.

But there is something satisfying and reassuring about a wheelgun. The curves on a wheelgun are more appealing to my eye than the more angular look of semi-autos.

If I had to face a large group, sure, I'd want my Beretta 92 or Glock if the shotgun was empty ;). Otherwise, a good wheelgun will do for 97% of the time.

I suppose I prefer revolvers. They have more "soul" for lack of a better word.

Having said that I generally carry a semi-auto for "social work."*

Depends.....for what? I mostly like semi-autos, but a very small .38 can be great for concealed carry.

All three. Both auto's and wheel guns have pros and cons. Waffles and Purnell Old Folks Sausage makes a good meal anytime of day. Hey, if the wives can "accessorise" by changing shoes and purses, why can't we change guns and holsters?

I have a Glock 17 I carry for ccw but I also have my great grandpa's S&W .32 from the 20's. I just target shoot with that (when I can get rounds for it). The revolver is a fun gun but for practical use I have to go with the semi auto.

revolvers for me.

I enjoy shooting a good semi auto at the range. Especially when
it's not mine and it's also not my money going for all the ammo.

But for HD and daily carry, I turn to Smith or Colt six gun.
Or seven gun as in the 686Plus.

Nearly all my family members (younger 20s-30s) are semi auto
stalwarts.

Nearly all my family members (older 40s-60s) are revolver men.

I'm upper 30s but have always been partial to revolvers.

I guess I've got about 25 or so of each .... and like somebody else said, there is something about the "soul" or a good old revolver ...especially like an N frame S&W ... model 27 say ...as one example ...

But some of the finest guns in my safe -- have come out of Wilson Combat ...and their 1911's are truly great guns ....

I guess I appreciate them both - for what they are ...

I'm in revolver mode.

I'm carrying my Smith M65 Ladysmith loaded with 158gr Hydroshocks.

Strongly prefer semi-autos. I've had a a few revolvers and have only kept the oddball Nagant because it's a historical oddity, and because I admire its durability. I tend to shoot semi-autos better, plus I like the thinness and the higher capacity I get from my semi-autos.

I prefer revolvers but have more semi-autos and shoot semi-autos more.

I prefer rifles but have more pistols and shoot pistols more.

Sometimes it's strange how things work out.

While I like both...

There are examples of both that I detest, or have no use for. Although, on deeper reflection, there are more autos I don't like than revolvers, generally.

I also like single shots.

Which one I prefer depends on my intended use. I have a single .22 revolver. And a .22 single shot. All my other .22 handguns are autos (5).

I am fond of Ruger Single actions, and S&W DAs, N frames in particular.

My 9mms are historical pieces, Luger, P-38, and Bolo Mauser.

Firepower isn't an issue for me. As a civilian, I recognise that one shoots only "in gravest extreme" and so providing my own cover fire is (despite constant "entertainment" showing the opposite) not a priority. Every round fired goes somewhere, and we are all legally liable for each one. Spray and pray never did appeal to me much.

For carry, my .45s are Colt and Sig.

And for power, I have autos that match magnum revolvers, at least until you get into the .460/.475/.480/.500 class.

I don't care much for the plastic framed pocket guns, and I cordially detest GLocks. To each his own.

Well said sir!

Semi's for two reasons. One, I am so "spoiled" by having high capacity pistols that I can't get my mind to figure out how 6 shots is better than 14 anymore.
Two, I've shot so many more semi's, especially over the past 20+ years, that when I even HOLD a wheel gun, it just feels funny now.

I still like some revolvers, but nothing like the love I have the the semi's. And, they just look so much prettier!

Waffles with fresh churned butter and real maple syrup.
Maple syrup is a marginal loading for self-defense at best. It also tends to really gunk up the gun. Marshall and Sanow found the one-shot-stop percentage to be so pathetic, they did not even include it in their studies.

Personally, I prefer revolvers, but I don't rule out those newfangled automatics the kids own these days. :)

I didn't vote; as it depends on daily dress, as well as circumstances
surrounding the carry of a CCW in the first place~! ;) :D

I like both, but carry a 1911 most of the time. Although I've been adding to the wheelguns, this pic kinda sums it up. Still have more autos at the moment.
