Simple question.

Most polls I have seen only have two options. I thought I would try to get a little more of an accurate picture by adding more options. Personally I have both, but have a bias toward revolvers.

I'm 50/50 so just voted I LIKE BOTH-
Both have their pros/cons depending on use & situation -
Thank goodness i'm lucky enough to own a few of each

I like whichever one happens to be with me at any time. But, since I own more revolvers, I guess I like them best. True, they don’t hold as many rounds but I pray I never need more than five or six rounds to get out of any situation.

I like both; favor revolvers for plinking, range work, and hunting. But also enjoy semi-autos, and favor them for CCW. Not pure categories for me, though, as I'll often carry a snub revolver, or plink with a semi-auto .22.

But then, I like single-shots (Contender, Encore, etc.), too.

I've really tried to warm up to autos, and own a few - but I just don't get too excited about them compared to a nice revolver. I even carry a snubby revolver most of the time now. I like autos alright, but to me they're kinda like a family car vs sports car. Hard to explain, just the way it is.

I chose waffles. Why? Because there are some situations where a revolver/caliber is the BEST weapon. And a person who doesn't understand that, doesn't understand pistols and weapons. Just like there are situations where a semi-auto/caliber is the BEST weapon.

We're talking about pistols. NO pistol, of any design or caliber can be the PERFECT weapon for ALL things. Just can't happen. The closest that has ever come is a 357 magnum revolver; and even that has certain shortcomings. So, it all depends on the situation. And the situation includes not only what you're using the pistol for, but who it is that is shooting the pistol.

It doesn't matter if I like revolvers more then semi's or semi's more than revolvers. IF I have a certain situation that I want a particular pistol for, then it might be the revolver, because that is what I need for that situation. And at other times it might be the semi. And we should never try and choose between the two OR have a preference. These questions, polls, threads, etc... are only intended/useful to the financially challenged person who can ONLY HAVE 1 pistol. Then, you have to make a choice. But as long as you can afford more than 1 gun, you don't need to choose or have a preference. You can recognize that there are times that the revolver is better, and times when the semi is better. And for those who think one can always be better than the other, they obviously don't understand pistols, calibers, or their purposes.

Guess I'm gonna have to vote NONE OF THE ABOVE

If I was to go back into LE, I'd carry a revolver.

If I was to go participate in a live fire excersize, with pop up-shoot back targets, As in SE Asia, I'd take my 1911A1.

I'd use autos in Bullseye, I'd use revolver in PPC.

To me they are equal, just differant purposes.

I like both, but prefer semi-autos for the most part. I'm overall more comfortable with semis for its operational parameters. I appreciate revolvers for what they are. I don't know them nearly as well and by the time I have an eye on one to buy, a semi comes around with greater attraction...

I just can't get excited about revolvers and I have tried.

This...

But I will note that I definitely plan on adding a .357 to the collection. First things first though... I need a 1911 :)

I generally carry an auto everyday for the capacity and easy of reloading. in the woods I carry revolvers for the power the usually offer over autos. sometimes a snubby gets mixed in with my town carry. If I reloaded a 10mm might find it's way into the woods with me.

I like both, but prefer revolvers.

A revolver is a beautiful work of art to me and the power available is a plus.

A semi is nice for the capacity and for HD if a big one. The only semi I love the looks of is a German Luger; it just looks mean, but I don’t have one.

I have an SP101 for the car console and an LCR for carry.

Perhaps my druthers are 80/20 revolver/semi.

BTW, I don’t care what the modern usage might be but to me they both are pistols.

I’m even been known to load my semi-auto clip with bullets, or sometimes I use shells.

In the absence of clarity of the original question...

I enjoy shooting revolvers.
I prefer carrying 1911s....so I voted semi-auto.

I've gone from a mostly semi auto guy to a ratio of something like 2.5 to 1 in favor of wheelguns. I still like semi's but I most often carry a revolver these days (usually either an LCR or SP101).

I love both, but something seems beautiful and heavenly about a reliable deep blued revolver. If I had only one pistol it would be a S&W 686+. Also to me there is no other better choice for deep concealment and power than there is in a good snub nose revolver.
Although to be fair I favor auto's for carry, My S&W 908 9mm has become a favorite of mine:D (as are my Kahr's). I also prefer a wheelgun for a back up gun if I do carry one. YMMV
