Personal Defense ammo

As I have said, 147g Ranger in 9mm. But have switched to NATO 124g hard ball in the spare Glock 17 magazine. I think maybe if I get to expend the 16 rounds in my Glock 19, I might be dealing with things to shoot through?

Just wondering what ammo you are shooting in your 9mm for personal defense.

In my 9mm's:

Speer Gold Dots
Federal HST
Remington Golden Sabers

But I think the difference in performance between any top shelf hollow points is going to be negligible.

I personally use 147GR black talons... if those ever run out, I'll be forced to use something else. I had good luck with 147GR gold dots with hunting, so I'll probably use that for bad guys too.

Remington HTP 115gr JHP

Which is, I think, the same standard presure, non-Golden Saber, 9mm JHP round Remington has been making, and I've been carrying, for decades.

HK doesn't recommend using 147 gr ammo in their pistols. Nor do they recommend +P+. Suits me just fine. I carry Gold Dot 124 gr JHP and still have some 124 gr Black Talon +P ammo. The Gold Dot 124 gr works well in my HKs and no doubt would leave a mark on the bad guy it is intended for. With only 200 rounds of Black Talon left from back in the day I'm going to save it for a special bad guy. He should be proud if the day ever comes that I use it.

Way back when, at a Firearms Instructor meeting, a Chronograph was set up, at that time I was carrying Black Talon.

A 147g Black Talon (just one) out of my Glock 26, it just made 1000 FPS, exactly.
