And for the reason of, I live in a apartment and when I hear a bump in the night I like to check it out. I bought my shotgun for HD at first and soon found out that when I need to check something out at night a shotgun isn't very discreet fot at night. But as far as a (oh yeah Im goin there) Katrina situation having a shotgun would be more than favorable (they dont call hanguns riot guns for a reason) so really I would say both. But for a first purchase in a urban setting I would recommend a hangun.
