People don't like target shooting?

The wife and daughter like to get a case of small bottled waters and shoot them. The small water explosions are very exciting. I like to then shoot the already empty bottles and make them dance.
If you have room in your freezer try putting heavy duty plastic bags filled with water in milk crates, or other fairly strong boxes to make ice blocks. At the range you can spend a lot of fun time making littler, and littler chunks of ice out of the big ones. When your done all the mess just melts, and drys up.

Depends what you call "target shooting". I find shooting sporting clays and skeet with an O/U outrageous fun! Bowling pins with a handgun is a blast. Shooting paper is somewhat of a chore to me.

Shooting is like golf for me. Give me a .22, a brick, and some dime sized targets and I'll shoot short range all day.

Like I said, no "open ranges" for me in this area to do this.

Its a shooting bay actually. I could see how paper targets could be limiting. With my vision I'm generally reduced to the short range unless I have optics (or shotting something reactive like a nice plate).

Are there any private gun clubs in your area? They often have bays and such. Additionally local pistol matches employ an array of differnet objects and movement. Those are excellent to whet the appetite again.

The initial rush doesn't last very long, especially with only paper targets. But although I don't have the same drive to get myself to the range, I still like it as soon as I'm there an load up. I'd love to have somewhere to shoot something else besides paper, though. Not many ranges of any kind in Southern Wisconsin so I can't be too choosy.

Bingo! That's my problem as well ("beggars can't be choosers" as they say ;)). I have said it before, I hope you lucky fellows that have your own places to shoot (open range/land) appreciate it!

-Cheers
