Pennsylvania TFL Gathering Saturday October 5th! "Soda's 22 Cheap shoot and show 'em"

Soda,

Help me out please. Is that next Saturday morning at the same place as where we went last time?

It's about 3-4 hours for me I think to do the drive. I plan to be there if I have the correct day.

Yes its the same place as last time.

Saturday the 5th between 11am and 5pm.

It took me an 1hr and 10min to get to where you live, Jody. Water and Wings is 35-40 minutes from me. You should be able to get there in about 2hrs.

Just put the pedal to the metal!:D

You know the story of the Old Bull and the Young Bull Jamie. We'll... I'm the really OLD BULL... and even slower when the subject is not heiffers! :D

:(

I didn't mention it before, but I was in an auto accident two weeks ago (worthy of its own post, later). I finally took my car to the claims office today and found out the damage is more extensive than I thought (need a new fuel tank). Now I'm not sure if I want to risk driving up to PA, and I doubt if the repairs will be done this week. I haven't decided what I'll do yet, but I might not make it this weekend.

It's too bad the rest of the VA TFL members are all slackers, or I could ride with one of them. ;)

Well if your in danger of showing up with a car that's about to explode... don't come.

Does it drive?

If its not leaking its probable ok to drive.

I'm bringing a 4x9 table to lay things on but it if anyone has any kind of stands or small tables to lay guns on it would make things look nicer.:)

I've been driving it for 2 weeks, but only the 4 miles to work and back, and I didn't know the fuel tank was dented. Actually, I'm only really concerned about the muffler, which was knocked loose and is now held in place with paracord. I can probably make it up and back, but I'll have to drive slower than normal. :o

Reminder!!!

I'm bringing everything I got, so everyone is urged to SHOW YOUR STUFF!!!

I'm bringing:

1)Taurus 38 Special
2)Colt 1991A1
3)Beretta 92FS
4)Ruger Single Six

5)Ruger Mini 14
6)Russian SKS
7)DSA STG58 FAL
8)Bushmaster XM15E2
9)Marlin Model 882
10)Winchester Model 70
11)Ruger 10/22
12)Remington 870
13)Marlin 16gauge O/U

And lots and lots of bang pills.

It looks like there may be a quite a few new shooters coming to the event.

Also, I just want everyone to be aware of the fact (and I'll remind everyone when we are there) some people at the pistol range have a bad habit of not paying attention to the "cease fire rules" at the rifle range. IF SOMEONE CALLS A CEASE FIRE AT THE RIFLE RANGE, YOU CEASE FIRE AT THE PISTOL RANGE!

It is difficult to see the rifle range from the pistol range and many people fail to realize that directly behind the pistol range is the 300-500yd range.

Please be aware of the rules at the club and take your time to read everything.

For any of the newbies, I'll point out some other stuff when I'm there.

Don't hold your rifles up in the air during lightning storms either.

THIS JUST HAS NOT BEEN MY MONTH

DUE T HEALTH REASONS I WILL NOT BE ATTENDING THE 22 SHOOT MUCH TO MY REGRET. APPRENTLY I WAS BITTEN BY AN INSECT (POSSIBLY A SPIDER) AND HAD A BAD REACTION. MY LEFT HAND HAS SWOLEN TO TWICE ITS NORMAL SIZE. THE PAIN IS INTENCE, REQUIRING THE USE OF NARCOTICS TO COMBAT IT.
FORV THIS REASON DRIVING AND HANDLING FIREARMS WOULD NOT BE A GOOD IDEA. HOPEFULLY NEXT TIME. PERHAPS I CAN SET ONE UP AT WICENS FARM RANGE SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE.

sorry man, i got way too much stuff to do that day (cross country practice, riding practice, paintball game i ve been tryin to set up.... the list goes on). good luck with it, and pm me again next time around

David you could always do a K80 and rent a car to drive up.
Do car rental places have some sort of mileage limit? There's an Enterprise place near my apartment, and they have a weekend special on compact cars. It would cost about $33 for the weekend, but I don't want to get hit with a $100 penalty for driving to PA. (If I'm lucky, the parts for my car will show up this week, and the insurance company will pay for the rental. )

I still need to buy some .22 ammo. :o

Long Range Weather forecast...

Hey Soda,

It's beginning to look like even the weatherman(person?) doesn't want to play nice with the planned event. The long range forecast is calling for heavy rains.

Of course, that could easliy change by then. It must be kinda nice to be able to have such a wide latitude of accuracy in your job and still not have to worry too much about getting it wrong(weather prediction that it).

Time will tell....

jmlv,
Nice one-handed typing! Hope you feel better.

nvrquit,
This is a Sodapop event. It's rain-or-shine baby!

I, of course, will not be there since I'll be in Miami.... :)

Mike

Rain or Shine! BTDT, GTTS!

9mmMike,

Rain or shine as an admonition and you're going to be in Miami!?!

Some would wish a hurricane on you, but I hope it's all sun and clear sail'in for you.

As for the "rain or shine"... the subject line says it. Did that at the state IDPA match. What a soggy Sunday morning that was!
