part 2 - In your personal battery, what gun has proven to be most reliable?

HK USP .40
SIG P220 .45
1911 Springfield .45

Those two NEVER jamed on me.
With the HK, I had one failure that was ammo related... Cant blaim the gun for a reversed primer! However I understand HK is working to fix that too! :D

I mean, if I went around saying I was an Emperor because some
moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, people would put me away!

Since I own a limited number of firearms, and only a couple of handguns, my choice would be my Sig P239. Had it for 2 1/2 years, have put about 5,500 rounds through it, and have had 1 stovepipe which was my fault because I didn't clean and lube it before I fired it the first time. I would (and DO) bet my life on it.

In order:
a) S&W 627
b) Sig P-226
c) Sig P-220
d) Glock 23C
e) Kimber Custom/Classic full-size 1911A1
f) Colt .380 hammerless 1908 (Browning design)

I would consider "a" absolutely reliable, "b" through "e" extremely reliable, and "f" not sufficiently reliable to bet my life on (literally).

My Wilson Combat Springfield compact/Steath custom. I've had/still have quite a few 1911's, custom and stock, 5 glocks, 3 revolvers, a CZ75, and the odd Taurus. the only gun that has come close has been the CZ-75. I have a new Wilson KZ-45 that may prove to be a winner, but I only have about 1000 rnds through it, so its too early to say.

Of the autos:
1. Glock 27.. never, ever a problem.
2. Beretta 92 SB (made in Italy). Never, ever a problem, even using reloads if I use Beretta mags.
3. My home brew 1911 (essex frame, colt slide). Two years of mixing, matching, polishing and refinishing. 100% reliable if I use Wilson Combat mags or Kings 7 rounders.

Revolvers:
All my S&W and ruger revolvers work 100% .

Of course, one squib load would jam a bullet in the barrel and disable any gun, so we should include ammo in the discussion.

I've never had a problem with any factory ammo. I have had a few problems with my reloads, even after 26 years of reloading experience, so I use factory ammo for carry and use reloads to practice with.

My P7M8 has never, not once, failed me.

My brain's a hand grenade...catch. Ice-T, OG.

The M-16 is a damn fine weapon, but your best, your most lethal and effective weapon is between your ears. Ssgt Brown, Parris Island, 3rd Bn, H co. 1984.

My most reliable is an FEG APK Mark II (Walther PPK/S copy)
Trigger is a bit heavy, and it doesn't like cheapo HP but it eats good stuff and has never failed me.
My carry gun for about 8 months now and has about 900-1000 rds though with no malfunctions 'cept for when I dumped some cheap ammo in it, so not it's fault.
For less than $300 best gun I've ever bought :)
Second best would be Ruger blackhawk SA 44 mag(With the "old style" firing pin, i.e. don't leave the hammer on a loaded chamber)
It'll shoot anything, anytime, anyway, anyhow, any condition. Too big to carry though.
Be safe, and don't work too hard fellas

The End, indeed. There have been lots of reliable handguns mentioned and this thread has reached well over 100K, so it's time for a lock down.

I see no need for a part 3 on this one, but if anyone wants to start it, feel free ...
