..sounds like a good man..I hope he doesn't find himself in a contradiction SHOULD anything like what is happening in Europe happens here and as a police officer has to respond to a situation....but I don't know your acquantince and have no desire to start an argument involving him...

If you look at demographics, virtually all of the American minorities involved were Christian.
I'm still waiting on proof of this assumption.
What news outlet reported the religions of any of the rioters?
What proof do you have that the majority, if any at all, of the rioters were christians, except for the reverend who shielded the white people with his body to protect them from a group of heathens ?

Joab,

Look up the numbers sometime for the percentages of blacks and latinos that are not Christian in the US.

Irrelevant anyway...no one's posted a shred of evidence that the rioters in Paris are calling for an Islamic state. All we have is hyperbole, links to articles about Indonesia and pictures of the WTC....I don't think I could find less relevant matters to bring into a discussion about Algerians in Paris if I tried.

..true Christianity is based on love thy neighbor not slay thy neighbor because he believes not what I believe...I know of no church that would condone rioting, burning other people's property, shooting at police, fireman or medical attendants beacuse of an inner-rage...any so-called christian church would be soundly rejected if they encouraged such behavior...

Triggered by the deaths of two teenagers who were electrocuted while fleeing from police, the unrest has taken on unprecedented scope and intensity. The

The violence — originally concentrated in neighborhoods northeast of Paris with large immigrant populations — is forcing France (search) to confront anger long-simmering in its suburbs, where many Africans and their French-born children live on society's margins, struggling with unemployment, poor housing, racial discrimination, crime and a lack of opportunity.

Now there are probaly some muslim extremeisst helping to fan the flames...and would dearly love to take the credit...... but it seems to be more about frustration than muslim extremism.

..just can't give up can you SS....Myself...it is not necessary for me to wait for the first raindrops to hit the ground near me to see a storm approaching....

To a certain extent Saddam Hussein's departure was a positive thing. But it also provoked reactions, such as the mobilization in a number of countries, of men and women of Islam, which has made the world more dangerous. - French President, Jacques Chirac

Hmm, I wonder if there are more people rioting in Iraq or France?

..funny thing ..why would a PEOPLE react negatively to an evil dictator's oust....maybe there is a common thread interwoven here..so sad and unbecoming...

Breathe once, breathe twice...

Exhale.

Jihadists suck pig pecker.

That being said, not every muslim is a Jihadist. I'm dating a muslim girl. She is very strongly oriented towards individual rights and individual decisions, not compulsion in the name of Allah.

I do agree that these riots very likely are fueled by extremist imams in some of these suburban mosques. And since the French refuse to let Zarkosky fix this problem and instead put Joque-strap Chirac and the queer poet Villepin (sp?) in charge of restoring order, they may end up losing a part of their country, culture, history and property due to the fact that:

THEY DON'T HAVE THE COURAGE TO STAND.

..somewhere along modern history Frenchmen lost the nerve to remain French...which means they could become anything...!

Aspen - no lies or falsehoods, just sarcasm in anticipation of Rebar's aspirations for this country. Perhaps that sarcasm escaped you. Of course while Rebar rails about Muslims in France, he sits in the relative safety of the US. I'm just dying to hear his suggestions for the US.

Rebar - You can spare me the rhetoric about recognizing the enemy on our soil. As I've said before on these boards, I live in Manhattan. I watched the second plane hit and both towers fall with my own eyes. Not from the comfort of a TV in my living room, but from the roof of my apartment building. I lived in this city with that acrid smell of death and smouldering rubble for months. I ride the subway everyday. How many bomb or 'suspicious package' scares have YOU had in the last month. I had two directly across the street from where I work, and another in the subway. I live in the largest bullseye on this planet for the terrorists and face the very real threat of terrorisim everyday, but I'm not cowering in fear and ready to surrender the rights and principles upon which this country was founded. You seem to be so shaken with fear you're ready to compromise those rights and principles when they apply to someone else.

OTOH, I also know good Muslims who have assimilated into this country quite well. People who live in my neighborhood, people I do business with, and people with whom I went to school. I have no love for the radical Muslims who advocate violence, but I won't blame good innocent Muslims for the crimes of the extremists among them. You talk about how Muslims have declared jihad on us, but fail to understand that all Muslims don't believe the same thing or interpret the Koran to mean the same thing. Just as different Christians can read and twist the text of the bible to mean vastly different things, different Muslims can do the same with the Koran.

no lies or falsehoods, just sarcasm in anticipation of Rebar's aspirations for this country.
Bull, you called me a racist and a bigot, no sarcasm involved. Note that I said nothing whatsoever about race. Nor did I advocate any policy whatsoever in response to the threat, consitutional or no. You pulled your whole statement out of you ass, and it was stupid then, and stupid now.

I also know good Muslims who have assimilated into this country quite well.
The London bombers, by all accounts, were perfectly adjusted and normal native-born English muslims. Yet, on a dime, they turned into suicide bombers and commited mass murder. Go figure.

..your sarcasm was naked enough to see....I think many will agree that the LACK of condemnation by 'good' muslims over 'bad' muslims is reason of mistrust by non-muslims.....
