Our lil Girl with her new Raging Bull 45LC

I question the wisdom of allowing kids to shoot big bore handguns before their muscles, ligaments and joints are fully formed.

Well it sure didnt hurt me or my brother. Together at age 15 and 14 we could pick up a volkswagon, just the two of us. I am still kinda strong, but a shower and some fresh cloths will fix that :)

You are absolutely right! She should've waited til she was 15 before she ever walked too!

375 Comparison image...

I thought the '94 Big Bore was the 375 Winchester... still a real butt kicker for a 12 year old. My uncle used his on bears in the calving sheds. I admire anyone in the 375 club.

I've hunted ducks with a 12 gauge since I was 9. My shooting joints are fine, my football joints are shot!!

i believe it was a .375 H&H mag... and was told that they called it a bigbore 94... or it may have also said that on the gun... looked just like a lever action 30/30... cept the hole diameter.

Are you a pediatrition? I know that large, full grown men have experienced deterioration of their wrists and elbows due to long term use of heavy loads in big bore handguns. If it can happen to mature men then it sure as hell can happen to young kids. Any responsible and wise parent will restrict their kids shooting to the lighter calibers untill they are at least 16 (some kids develope faster than others so YMMV). The 38 special and 9mm hold plenty of excitement for the younger set and they won't be a danger to young muscles, ligaments and joints.

kewl kid...

I'm amazed that she isn't afraid of that thing! She looks like a miniature Annie Oakley.

I just asked my gf, who is a physician and happens to be standing here. She said that it "would be best to wait until after she has stopped growing; however it's probably not any worse than gymnastics for a kid" She also commented that she should be wearing plugs under the ear muffs because hearing loss is a very critical issue at that age.

Personally I wouldn't let her shoot without eye protection. Hope we have a kid like that some day. :-)

I would expect no less from disco than for his daughter to be outfitted with a Raging Bull ;). Thats very cool, its alway good to get the young ones into the sport asap. I have been shooting a 45 since I was 9 years old and am glad of that. Thats a cool pic, hope your daughter enjoys the sport her new Bull.
