One handgun only...what would it be?

4 inch Ruger Blackhawk in .357 mag would do just fine for me. I would not advocate it for everyone I grew up shooting single actions. It is second nature for me to cock the hammer as soon as the gun clears the leather, as I bring it to ready position.

If it did not have to be concealed I would go with the .41 Mag in a 6.5 inch.

My choice would be the full auto G18 machine pistol.... but from what i got in the safe for semi auto i would go with the springfield champion 1911 .45acp

as revolver goes it would probably be my 66-2 bull barrel custom .357mag

Earlier in this thread I declared that if I could only have one it would be a Glock 17.

I've changed my mind.

It would be my Ruger SR9c....

I'll send a dollar to the OP if he answers back

If you see my point, you get a dollar.

I doubt you'll ever read this.

How long do I have to decide?

I hate this discussion.

I'm starting to think my Ruger SP101 3" is my baby.

Not light, not heavy, not big, not small. But it has a hell of a wallup.

My Python. Very Accurate. You can hunt with .357s, and .38 Special is EVERYWHERE. Plus you can't beat a wheel-gun for reliability.

At last some class, I thought I was the only one bringing a Colt Python to this party. .357 with eight inch barrel and Harrett target grips.

A Marble Gamegetter (or it's more modern equivalent...Springfield pistol version of the M6 Scout) The M6 is an over-under .22/.410 single shot. I read that the pistol version could also shoot .45LC.

I have the M6 rifle/shotgun and it is about the most vesatile gun I've ever seen. I can take anything from chipmunks (.22 shorts) to medium deer (slugs)with it. I guess loaded with CCI Stingers in the upper and buckshot in the lower it could serve as a threat stopper at close ranges too.

If ammo were to start getting scarce from some catastrophy.....

.22's are probably the most available cartridge in the States. .410, not so much, but any single shot shotgun can be loaded in a muzzleloader fashion if you have saved some spent high brass, primers, some black powder and lead. This can also be done with a minimum of equipment in the field.

That time may come at any moment or never...

Now, where's my dollar

I'm impressed that you fallowed up, most people that start an OP never fallow up. I hate that, I feel like I'm wasting my time answering to the OP, only to get no response no matter what I say.

Do you take cash? Send me your snail.

It took me 10 day's to decide, but I'm pretty sure, it's the small but not too, to take a full .357 load's including Corbon 200g HC.

So it's my SP101 3". for now at least.

If I could only have one handgun I figure it should be the one I shoot the best, so I guess I would be "stuck" with my 4" S&W Model 28. That old N frame shoots one ragged hole out to 25 yards.

It's a toss up between my SIG P229 .40 compact or my H&K USP .45 compact. The H&K because it's a .45 and the SIG because it just feels right in my hand. Both are quality guns. I lean towards the H&K.

I came close to only having one but didn't. I made a post or two about that six weeks ago. I was thinking about one of the new Colt 9mm automatics. But, it was too expensive. It was still nice and I guess it's still available. But I'm still pretty close since I have only two firearms at the moment. Both 9mm, both DA/SA. One a Walther P99, the other a CZ 75 P01. Toss up. Can't think of too many other pistols that are so similiar that have so many differences.

I'm a big guy so I can hide a little of a "larger" Pistol. I just aquired a Ruger Super Redhawk 4" in .44mag. Like the idea of the different bullet weights as well a shot shell capsules. If we're talkin' end of civil order type stuff I'd go with a .45 or 9mm for ammo availability. Coogs.

If only one handgun, it would have to be my Glock 23. It seems to me to be the perfect all around gun.
