Meaning that if you hit the lotto, and could have a gun in every caliber, what would you want? Most people seemed to post what they already have and posted "none" for calibers, but if money is no object "none" isn't an answer.

The OP wanted to see what you would buy if you could for each cal, not what you already have.

Well, some of us have what we would want at that caliber, lol. Then again, I added those things I still want at those specific calibers that I don't already have. That's why I included all those *, lol.
 
Well, I suppose that if money were no object, I could get some other pistols, but here's some of what I already have...

.22LR: S&W Model 17, Ruger Single Six, Ruger Mk I Target, Browning Challenger and a few others besides...

.25 ACP: None currently, although a Colt/Baby Browning might be in my future

.32 ACP: Mauser HSc, and a Savage Model 1910

.380 ACP: None currently, and frankly, no plans for one...

9mm Luger: Mauser P08 (1936 production), Walther P.38 (1942 production) and a Bolo model C96 Broomhandle

.38 Special: Colt Agent 2"

.357 Magnum: Several S&W N frames and K frame, also Ruger Blackhawk

.40 S&W: none, and no interest

.44 Mag: Ruger Super Blackhawk and S&W model 29-2. Also a Desert Eagle.

.45ACP: Colt Government Model and Browning BDA 45

.45 Colt: Ruger Blackhawks and Vaqueros

I also have some other handguns in less common calibers, that I'm not going to bother to list.

Other than .38 Special, it appears that I don't have one gun for each major caliber, I have more than one!:D

Note: I included calibers that some would not consider major calibers. Some of these are even dead calibers..... But since we are dreaming here. I also included some calibers that I personally have no real desire for, but are "major" and a caliber collection would not be complete without. With the exception of .22, which is equally available in autos and revolvers I listed the common auto cartridges first and revolver cartidges second.

The guns I already own are pretty much the same guns I would own if money were no object. (The only thing I would do differently is maybe get some fancier grips or some engraving on a couple of them.) I actually prefer my guns to have somewhat basic features.

If I become very wealthy, I would buy a few more "impractical" toys like a full-auto Thompson submachine gun. I would then buy a home with enough property to play with all my toys.
 
I have several guns for all of the major calibers from handguns to long guns, but I have been considering for a while on reducing the numbers as I just don't shoot them and seeing them sit in my safe is satisfying yet unfulfilling.
 
Ah yes I remember back when the goal was 1 per :D. of course by the time you get there you have two of a couple, but thats ok then the goal is two of the ones you like, then two each, then four of the ones you like it never ends I'm up to 10 357s now LOL. but I'll play the 1 per game with some experiance.

22lr sure a Ruger mark would work, but you said no limit $ make my one 22lr a Smith 41.
25 either a Colt vest pocket or Baby Browning
32 acp I'd get a Colt 1903 or Walther pp
380 I'd prolly get a LCP I'd want some kinda pocket gun.
9mm that's a tough one to narrow down I guess make mine a BHP and send it to Novak for a barrel trigger job and some good nighe sights.
38 I want a Smith masterpiece make it a 6" model 14
If I could only have 1 357 I'd want my 686SSR and this comes from a guy that owns a Python, a GP and 7 other 357s.
for a 40cal I want a 10mm make it a Delta Elite.
44 special and 44 mag go together I either want a 696 and a Redhawk or a Flattop Blackhawk and a 29-2.
45acp I want a Les Baer Thunder Ranch
and for the 45 colt a SAA followed closely by the first 2nd gun in the same caliber lol

45 Colt - Ruger New Vaquero.
357 Magnum - Smith and Wesson 19 or Ruger Blackhawk
38 Special - Smith and Wesson 10 or Colt Detective Special
45 ACP - 1911A1
44 Magnum - Don't really want one
40 - Don't want
9mm - Nah
380 - Nah
22lr - Ruger Single Six.
