One gun for each major caliber

So one of my goals, its to have a handgun for each of the major calibers. I enjoy reloading, and I just like the idea. So if you COULD (you may not want to now, but if money was no object and you could) get a gun for every caliber, what would you get for each caliber?

This is what my list looks like so far:
.22 LR - Ruger Mark III

.25 Auto - Beretta Tomcat

.32 Auto - Walther PPK

.380 - Bersa Thunder Plus (the double stack just fits better)

9mm - Springfield XD

.40 - Beretta 96 (my first handgun)

.45 ACP - Springfield 1911 Doublestack (notice a pattern here )

.38 Special - Ruger LCR

.357 Magnum - Smith and Wesson Model 28 N Frame Highway Patrolman

.44 Magnum - Ruger Redhawk

.45 Long Colt - Ruger Blackhawk

So what would your list look like? I tried to stick with the major calibers, and avoid calibers with limited gun choice. If you want a .500 S&W, for instance, there are not many choices. My apologies to the 9X18, .357 Sig, .41 action express, .45 GAP, .41 magnum, and many others.

My list, and part of it's complete, would be...

.22 LR - Ruger Mark III*, S&W 17-4*, Colt Diamondback

.25 Auto - Beretta Tomcat **

.32 Auto - Walther PPK **

.380 - S&W Bodyguard

9mm - FN FNP-9*, Kahr CW9, Beretta 92Fs or variant

.40 - Glock 23 (geeked out a bit)*, S&W Sigma*, S&W M&P

.45 ACP - Remington-Rand 1911***, Stoeger Cougar*, S&W 4506 or variant and 625, A NightHawk T3!

.38 Special - Colt Diamondback

.357 Magnum - Colt Python*, S&W Model 27*

.44 Magnum - Colt Anaconda*, S&W 29

.45 Long Colt - Ruger Blackhawk**

*= I already own this piece
**= I agree with the OP
***=i n my safe, but issued to me by my department
no *= I want really bad, lol.

That about sums it up. For now, lol.

22 LR - Currently own a S&W K-22 / Model 17, Heritage Rough Rider Combo, H&R 622. Would also like to add a Browning Buckmark.

.25 Auto - Don't own any, probably won't ... if anything a baby Browning or old Colt

.40 - No interest here

.45 ACP - Already own a Springfield Milspec 1911

41 Magnum - S&W 57 or 58

Oh boy, this is how my collection started so many years ago, with a similar goal - at least one gun in every major caliber. Or at least the calibers in which I have an interest, lol! Things have changed a lot, many guns have come and gone, but here's where I sit now as far as this goal is considered:

.22 LR - Ruger Mark III and also have a Taurus 94 for plinking

.25 Auto - Beretta 950, Galesi Brescia and Baby Browning

.32 Auto - KelTec P32

.380 - don't have anything, and not very fond of the .380, so no big hurry here. Maybe I'll get an LCP or Kahr P380 someday.

9mm - Have a Beretta 9000 and a Ruger P89, with a Glock 19 on its way. Might pick up a Kahr PM9 or CW9.

.40 - One of my favorites, with Glocks 23 and 27, M&P 40 and HK USP40c. Walther P99 coming soon.

.45 ACP - Sig P245, Glock 30 and Ruger P97. Sig P220 and Dan Wesson CBOB soon to come.

.38 Special - Taurus 85UL

.357 Magnum - Rossi 462. Ruger Speed Six on layaway. Like to get a GP100 someday, too.

.44 Magnum - Ruger Redhawk

.45 Long Colt - Some old piece of junk I picked up for cheap. I think it's a Charles Daly Sonora that the previous owner scarped all the finish off of and carved a couple of notches into the grip to make it look more.. interesting.

I guess I am in a different Camp. I try to keep my bullets down. I currently only own 4 types of ammo (my wife recently added 2 more but those are hers)

17 HMR (Remington 597 safe queen) and a NNA Derringer... I am thinking of changing these to 22s

357 Magnum S&W 640 and 649 (I prefer the 640) S&W 627 Hunter with 8 inch barrel. Coonan Classic and a Marlin 1894C

45/70 Marlin 1895GBL Marlin 1892 (22 inch barrel) and Magnum Research BFR 45/70 (10 inch barrel)

12GA Remington 870 and an old el cheepo double barrel that I intend to chop down if I ever get the paper work done.

I have the major things covered. I got plinking guns (sort of... dang Remington) I got a good solid self defense round which is also a good for Coyotes out of the Marlin and I got Rifles and hand guns that are good for hunting pretty much any big game out side of Africa. Then I also have a shot gun for hunting Birds and if I ever get the paper work done and accepted I may have a home defense SBS 12ga.

I can see the appeal in having many different calibers, but for me I like to stick to the same 4 to keep ammo simple. I have at least 1000 rounds for each gun I own and it still all fits in a single box.

Too bad my wife doesn't see it the same way. I would not have a Taurus Judge or a Sig P238 in my home. That said those guns are lucky if we ever have even 150 rounds in the home at any one time.

I'm thin on .22's but will rectify that soon. I reload for all my centerfires so I try to consolidate as much as possible

I've got a .38 snub for pocket carry and will likely upgrade to a PM40 or equivalent. Frankly, I can get along fine with the .40 & .45 Colt in handguns. The former is a decent rounds with free or cheap brass available everywhere. The latter is handy in a derringer or short lever action, too. So..

.22: New Bearcat

.40 S&W: Have an Allied Forces SW40VE and am quite happy with it. Want PM40.

.45 Colt: Have an Old Vaquero, may get a New Vaquero & Bond Derringer, would love a 4" Redhawk and a couple of nice Colt SA's. The (yes, I'm really saying this) Taurus 450 was a brilliant platform for this cartridge and worth any 'perfecting' an individual specimen might need. Can you tell I like this cartridge?

Rifles... 30-30, 30-06 and maybe a big boomer at some point. Toss between the .338 WM and .45-70 for that slot. Don't need a .22 rifle if I have a really good .22 pistol.

30-30: Pre-64 Model 94. Would like a whole rack of them, ala Gunsmoke.

30-06: Have Remington 78, love it. Would take another at the right price.

.338: Want an older Model 70 Winchester.

.45-70: Want an '86 Browning carbine.

Shotguns? 12 gauge, unless it's something along the lines of the .45 Colt/410 Survivor.

Current 12: 8-shot Maverick.Would like a Fox BSE on an old LC Smith for the field.
