One brand only?

After reading another this vs. that thread it got me wondering,
How many of you are "one brand only" types.
I'm not talking those of you with only one or two guns. I'm talking the kool-aid drinkers club, several guns from brand X only.
With so many different gun makers turning out good quality guns, why do you chose only one?

Jim

I'm not into gun games, only self-defense.

I find that having one brand/caliber simplifies things. Same holsters, magazines, ammo, firing mechanism and trigger action, etc.

I have several different brands. But more Rugers than any others because they are the most gun for the money IMO.

Same exact situation from me rockhanger. Though more specifically the m77. :D

Same brand, caliber, holster, magazine... you own several of the same gun?

And I own more S&W's then other brands, BUT, I do/have owned allot of other brands.

I'm looking for the one brand only types.

I also like varity just for fun. I do alot of swaping and trading also to find out what i like the best. But as far as rifles go I have three rem 700's two in 7 mag and one in 280. Handguns, Never get rid of my glocks (autos) smiths (revolvers)

A quick count shows I have handguns from at least 17 different manufacturers. Some are single models from a manufacturer, and from others I have multiple models, or multiple examples of a particular model.

I celebrate diversity!:D

I do. I have multiples of anything I might use on a regular basis. How can you not?

While I do have, or have owned a number of different makers and types of guns, I tend to focus on one or two at any given moment for daily use. It just keeps things simple. I still have and practice with different "types" (SA, SA, DAO, etc) on a regular basis, just to stay on top of them.

These days, Glocks are the main gun of choice. Mags and holsters work interchangeably (for the most part) across models, making them very versatile. They work out of the box with no fiddling, and cost of both guns and accessories are reasonable.

I'm the guy who everybody would scream, "HIM, he's the ONE BRAND GUY!"
Well, I carry CZ, my wife carries CZ, I am trying to get my employer to switch to CZ, I run a CZ website, I MUST be the one brand guy, right?

Not always.

I carry both of these, the CZ PO-1 and the Smith Model 10-8, and feel equally well protected by both. :)

Not me. Although I standardized on Glocks, mostly .40s, for mainline defense uses, I still enjoy a variety for other purposes: Springfield 1911, S&W and Ruger revolvers, Kel-Tec, Makarov, Ruger MkIII, even FEG.

It makes sense for me to standardize on primary defense arms to simplify stocking of accessories, spare parts and mags. The other brands I don't worry too much about having immediate repairs or lots of mags on hand.

I have several brands...

... but I have more (5) S&W than I have of any other brand. (I've owned 6, but sold one to a friend - Model 28-2 that needed some attention, and he wanted a project gun)

All things (accuracy, reliability, ergonomics) being equal, S&W has these advantages, in my case:

1) Made in USA (so is my truck; so was my motorcycle; so are a lot of other things I've actively sought out or had made);

2) My first handgun was a S&W;

3) My experiences with S&W customer service and warranty repair have been phenomenal

But I'm not a Kool-Aid drinker, thanks.

As I've been winnowing out my collection, I am now down to two foreign-made guns, 1x SIG and 1x CZ; they are simply too good to part with, even if they aren't American.

I've owned three Glocks, but they just didn't suit me; I still have one of the five Rugers I've owned over the years - the first GP100 I should never have traded, but I have #2 - but the SBH, SP101, and LCR ultimately didn't do it for me.

I've also parted with 3x SIGs (owned 4 over the years), 1x Beretta, and 1x CZ. These were all good guns, but became redundant as I found others I preferred.

I own more S&Ws than any other brand however, I also own Glock, Springfield, Ruger and I once even owned a Taurus. S&W makes great revolvers so I lean towards them but I'm certainly open to other makers as well.

In my opinion, there are just too many quality guns out there to limit youself to a single brand.

Several brands here! Mostly a Ruger & Smith fanboy, and a revolver lover.

Single actions are the biggest turn on for me; love them!

However, my PT-92 AFS is off the chart! I gotta give credit where due!;)

Why would you limit yourself to one manufacturer? There are so many wonderful guns out there, from excellent manufacturers; just seems a shame not to sample them. I own guns from four makers at the moment and all of them have something special to offer me ...

While I agree you should try and own as many as you can, if not just for familiarization/learning purposes. That way youre at least well rounded and know what to expect if you have to pick up something in an emergency that isnt yours.

I think if youre going to carry one, you should stick with one specific gun/platform for that purpose, and concentrate on it more than the others. It just makes things a little easier. Same goes for how and where you carry it.

I have 1911s from eight different manufacturers. The nice thing about this is that training and familiarization with the manual of arms is consistent. The same could be said for revolvers.

Glock, Browning, Colt, NAA, SW, Ruger - whatever works and the wife can't find!

Taurus has come and gone. But so has some SW and Kahr.

Knives - they are always moving in and out.

I own guns from Springield Armory, Remington, Winchester, Ruger, S&W, Colt, Browning and Beretta. They were all purchased for a specific use (competition or defense) and the gun/manufacturer chosen was a matter of best fit for the intended use and the value/$. If I had to pick only one manufacturer for handguns it would be S&W hands down. For rifles and shot guns it would be Remington.
