GEEZ! Eugene/Springfield is so liberal it's coming out of their .....! I went into town again today with my gun open carry. I just came from the range, and since it's legal, didn't take it off when I went into the store. Well, we, unfortunatly, have a chapter of the misinformed mothers march here. Well, it's a *small* town and I guess we had to run into each other at some point. Here's a breakdown of what transpired:
Me: Walked in, looking innocent. No "torn" or "dirty" clothes. No camos. No facial hair, nice haircut, teeth brushed and deoderant working.
Her: Looked like she just woke up, threw on some old clothes to go to the store.
Me: Went to pick up some Sprite.
Her: Seen me, YELLED out, "HE's GOT A GUN!" (whatever happened to the "you have the right to speech but not to shout fire in a crowded theater?).
Me: Stood still; awaiting for her or other people's next move.
Her: YELLED, "call the manager, he's got a gun and is going to kill us all!".
Me: Calmly, No ma'am, I'm not going to kill or hurt anyone. This is legal in this state.
Her: Reply: "No it's not". I am a member of the MMM and I KNOW it's not legal.
Me: "Yes ma'am, it is legal."
Manager: "Is there a problem here?"
Her: Yelling/pointing "HE's GOT A GUN!"
Manager: "The police are on their way". "Sir (to me), would you mind coming to the back office?"
Me: "I'll go, but she has to come also. I want her there when the police arrive".
We go back to the office. The police arrive, see me (remember, I've done this before), shook their heads and told the MMM person "He's got the right Ma'am". They took me aside, again asked me "Why do you do this?" and then warned the woman that if she did this again, they would write her up for "inciting a riot".
The police are still kinda anti here but they know me (don't know if that is a good thing or not) and they don't bother me. The only thing that I'm worried about is that one of them may get a burr up their @$$ and start harressing me (stopping me, keeping an eye out to nail me if I "screw" up, etc..). I do it to prove a point and yes, it may get me in the end.
Oh, to give alittle bit of background on why many will think I'm a moron: Springfield is a place of one of the school shootings and they just railroaded a student at the same school for having a .22 rifle in his car on school grounds. He said that he forgot it was there after a weekend of target shooting. I tend to believe him.
