OK, here we go again...

Normally I wouldn't use "bulldog" as an adjective to describe Tamara, but in this case... grrrrrr.... :D

"You still haven't answered the question!"

Dammit...wish I had a...

....digital camera...is that what Tamara looks like? Geeez...I'd be one PO'd MOFO too....what makes it the one? 'Cause it's a Colt!
There....I answered it....nuff said?;)

Well...

...let's see:

"Better fit and finish", "better features for the money", "better QC", "more accurate", "better trigger/sights/feed reliability", these are all objective answers of "what makes a better pistol".

Not "they hold their value better". If that's your only criteria, then a Coca-Cola stock certificate is a much better pistol than any 1911. ;)

(PS Don't even get me started on your Hardly-go Davidson... :D )

Now I get it! Less features for the same money is what makes the 1991A1 superior to all other 1911-pattern pistols.

Colt is where it was, where it's at now, and will be from now on...the rest of the all Novak patties, with special steel, lights, plastic all served up on a checkered strap bun are fads now...with a Colt, you get minimalist, form and function,,,want special sauce, lettuce, cheese and a sesame bun?...well add it later. I'll have my Colt my way.

Explain to me, once and for all, why a Colt 1991A1 is a vastly superior choice over, say, a Springfield Milspec 1911A1, which comes with metal MSH and trigger, and otherwise indistinguishable from the Colt with the exception of the roll markings.

You just want to rationalize that your personal brand preference is superior to all other brands because the thought is pleasing to you. Don't try and make believe that a Colt 1991A1 is in any way mechanically superior to any other milspec 1911. They're the same frickin' gun, except for the roll marks and the prancing pony on the grip which you like.

Yes ledfinger...they are

the same, but the SA is more money, blocky (like a Crock), grip and dust cover way out of spec....just not the same...I have a SA mil Spec....nice piece....but it just ain't a Colt....and my Colt doesn't say FI BRAZIL . Peri friggin' id, child!

I meant to say Glock...heh, heh, heh:D

Settle down, everyone.

I made the Harley comment for a reason. There's no way to explain why I like Colts, because to another person it would never make sense. Yes, they're overpriced, yes they've had shoddy QC over the past decade, but Colts are what make me happy. I also have a Kimber and it's an awesome gun. But if I had to start selling my collection it'd be one of the first to go.
