Oh, horrors - the G43

gotthegoods, was that joke?

Did you mean to let us know that there are already single-stack plastic framed 9mm pistols available? Certainly Kahr makes several in that category.

But if you meant the way it was written, then you could not be more off base. The Kahr trigger is the opposite of the GLOCK. The Kahr has a long double action type trigger pull, not much different than a double action pull on a S&W revolver. Those who can only shoot short-and-crisp triggers do not like the Kahr.

However, those of us who also like to shoot DA strings using a 5-gun / 6-gun / 7-gun sometimes actually like the Kahr. I know that I do.

I would disagree that the 26 and 42 are close - having both.

I agree, and as one who has pocket carried both, I can say there is a "huge" difference between the two when it comes to pocket carry. The G42 is quite comfortable in my pocket. I hardly notice it, and when it comes to shooting, the G42 is a pleasure. Having seriously considered the LCP, Bodyguard, and the G42, I find the G42 to be the best of breed. It won't replace my 26, but it will supplement it.

Another glock I won't have to buy because it's already out there in a non ego driven brand.

I currently saving for the g40...

The 26 is a fine OWB gun. If I OWB a gun, I don't need a reduced capacity 9. In fact, I can usually carry a G19 on my belt.

Actually Glenn I prefer the 26 for OWB cause the muzzle does not push into the seats of the car when driving or sitting in a chair.

10 or 12 rounds is plenty for me.

But if this 43 is slim, then for a IWB it would be quite handy.

I have a 26 and a 34 and if Glock comes out with a single stack 9 I WILL own one. I hope its the size of a 26 just thinner.

It's going to be interesting to see and shoot but nothing I'm interested in owning. I've had a lot of small 9mm, mainly Kahr's and quite frankly I'm over them. For me personally, I have no use for such a small gun with limited capacity and capability when it's so easy to appendix carry a bigger gun. If I really need something small I much prefer a J-frame.

I kind of feel Glock is once again a bit too late if they do in fact deliver a single stack 9mm. Gonna have to compete with the LC9S and the Shield, which are both affordable, reliable, existing guns. But, of course, they'll still sell like crazy...

I can't wait for the Glock single stack 9's to hit the market....

Will get to nab one of those nice little Shields at a bargain bin price. :-)

I didn't think of that!

Sounds like it will be a great time for me to buy a second LC9s

Back to the 26 vs 42 debate. Last night it was cold (for San Antonio), so we went for a walk. I took a heavier jacket and had my 19 under it. However, accessing it would be difficult in real time. I tried the 26 in the jacket pocket and it was way to heavy for comfort. Either my 42 or 432 was not a bother in my off side pocket (I shoot decently with either hand). I took the 432 just because I like it!

Threw a couple of speed loaders in the other side. So I was all BUG ready with a primary. Wow!

Actually, there have been some incident on our walking trails lately. Bad folks found out that single women have been using them and that attracts predators.

Same situation here...
This is the first winter in a long time that my primary carry has not been a J-frame but an actual belt gun. With the frigid weather we have been having lately, I've been layering up and leaving myself little room to draw. Because of this, the J-frame has found itself back into my front coat pocket and for the first time in my life I was carrying a BUG. Winter time fun!

Glock 43 prediction FWIW

I am not a huge Glock fan but I am going to bring the wrath of just about everybody on the forum down on me. I believe if Glock brings out a single stack 9 mm it will become their top selling firearm along with gaining all of these phony baloney "gun of the year" accolades. They would be complete imbeciles to not address an item this hot in the market.

Pico the problem is "this hot in the market" for a single stack 9mm would have been 2,3, even 4 years ago.

Right now Hot in the market is ammo, AR's, anything tacticool, suppressors ect.

While I DO think it will sell well, I think Glock missed an opportunity in the prime of the great pocket gun race.

Any chance they will offer it with a thumb safety?
Now THAT'S funny!!!:D:D:D
Glock········Thumb safety? That wouldn't be a Glock
Any chance Chevrolet will offer a Ford Mustang?

The 42 is already too big for a pocket 380. Is a single stack 9MM going to be even bigger?

Well, I don't wear skinny jeans, but not clown pants either. My LCP conceals very well in and pocket, and is easy to draw. My Kahr CM9 conceals well in most, but not all. But in more cases than not it's a bit cumbersome to draw from pockets. I haven't actually tried a G42, got no reason to. It is bigger than my Elsie Pea, and bigger than my CM9. So why would I carry a "bigger" 380 than a 9MM that I already have.
So if the 380 acp G42 is already longer, taller, and slightly wider than my CM9, what's the G43 going to be. Might make a very nice IWB single stack pistol though.

Compare the size of the 6+1 shot G42 to the other smaller 6+1 shot .380s out there.

If the Glock slim 9 is a 6+1 shot, then it's to compete with the current 7+1 shot slim 9s out there, otherwise it would be bigger. Someone bet me that I'm wrong. ;)
