Obvious Printing! Does anyone notice or really care?

In connecticut I am required to carry concealed,If I carry in a manor that it prints and is seen its silhouette,or if some one finds out I am carry it,should I tell some one who tell some one else etc and I can be charged With(53a-181)breech of peace in the 2nd degree.I have now recklessly created a risk of annoyance or alarm and I have created a hazardous condition.(53a-64) Reckless endagerment in the 2nd degree.

So its safe to say I am very concerned if I am printing and I make every effort to cover up good with some dark colored over sized shirts.

I think most have overlooked the biggest problem with being so obvious. Concealed carry is for what purpose? To be able to protect your life & others. I guarantee the bad guy will notice; and that's the problem. When he notices, you can't protect yourself or anyone; because you will be the first target...

Use some common sense and carry CONCEALED; then maybe you will live a long life.

You may want to consider a different holster first, then adjusting you mode of dress a little bit. That being said, people generally pay NO attention to you. I used to be self conscious but really no one is paying any attention. I'm a correctional officer and I tend to look people up and down all the time. I think I've made one or two people carrying in the last ten years and both of them were cops who were not making any kind of attempt to be discreet. I have NEVER made a civilian and I really look! The fact is in the day of PDAs, sell phones, etc.....people have all kinds of crap on their belts lately and a bulge is not longer automatically assumed to be a weapon.

seriously? Heck most people have no idea there are other people in the world with them much less what they are wearing or if there is a gun under their cloths. I bet if you walked into Wallyworld with a tail and feet like a bear only one in 10 people would notice.

Man!! If that doesn't go away in 4 hours, you'd better call a doctor!!

Seriously, that's begging for attention. I'm not feeling real sympathetic to your premise. I have some large handguns also, as well as rifles and shotguns. I don't really want the general public to know it.....

. “Concealed firearm” means a loaded or unloaded pistol, revolver or other firearm which is carried upon a person in such a manner as not to be discernible by ordinary observation.

What does that mean? It's quite discernible that something is concealed under there, but not discernible with re: to what it is.

Similar problems ;)

I didn't think it was bad at the time, but it seems like my 226 Sig prints a fair bit.

Not BAD, you can't tell it's a gun, but it sticks out. About the loosest clothing I can find. I think it's good enough I'll stick with it, as long as I don't do it alot.

Thing with MT law is that it doesn't really cover the specifics of what is concealed, etc. that I can FIND. It just states concealed weapons,etc.etc. blah blah about where you can't go and what self-defences are allowed, but no actual guidelines.

I wouldn't worry about it, but I'd get the 1 in a thousand old lady who is hysterical. Or worse yet, most of the cops are gun people, so they'd see it I think.

I carry cross drawer in Fl and don't print like that they'd arrest you here for that,Thats totally obvious!!!!! AND definetly what they would call PRINTING,but most older folk wouldn"t see it! Really not much effort is needed on your part to do it right, probably a quality belt/holster a T shirt with a baggy over shirt lower 3 buttons buttoned not tucked in,( Hawaian floral print breaks print up very well) I carry a full size 1911 with np!

A theory taken straight from the anti-gunner's handbook.

Is this better, and probably more indicative of what I wear? Same set-up:
.45acp Officer's cross-draw and a PPK .380 in SS pocket....Appreciate all the constructive criticism: some pics were hilarious...:)

Most people are pretty oblivious to their surroundings. I don't mind printing a little, but I'd certainly try to print less than what your picture shows. In my opinion, why flaunt it?

If I wanted everyone to know I had a handgun, I'd open carry. If I go through the trouble of concealing it, I want it concealed.

I wouldn't go out concealed like you are in the first picture. I could live the second picture however.

I generally wear non stretchy shirts to reduce printing. Polo shirts like that tend to form a recognizable gun print.

I'm not exactly young anymore, and have all my life been firearms conscious. However; the OP's question got me thinking and I have to admit that in all the checkout lines and public gatherings and groups of people I have been in, I never thought about someone else carrying concealed or looked them over, trying to see if they are. I will look women over carefully but certainly not for seeing if they are carrying weapons. I immediately notice a holstered handgun in plain sight but think little about it.

This works well for me with my glock 30SF with a fobus paddle.
