Obvious Printing! Does anyone notice or really care?

During the past few summers going out casually, I just pull over a sport shirt over my carry even though I know if you stare in the right direction you'll notice an outline of a pistol. In the pic, it's a .45 Officer's and in my strong-side pocket is a PPK 380, which is not visible at all.
I don't carry two, but just for illustration. I go to crowded Wally World's, the Mall, and everywhere it's legal. No one stares, says anything, and I wonder if anyone really pays much attention to one's dress. Maybe since I carry OWB in a cross-draw, not sure. I've passed by LEO's, security guards in malls, etc.; nothing...To be honest, unless it's a low-life looking character, or a group of them; I don't give much thought about who's carrying either....
I realize concealed means concealed and even though I'm in an Open Carry state; I don't practice it. I'm thinking that most people assume it's anything but a firearm under one's clothes....
Are you overly concerned about printing? Should I wear an over-size shirt?

Just limp a little and everyone will think it's some sort of medical device! Seriously though, most people are so caught up in their own world that they don't notice. Here in Ohio it's no big deal since open carry is legal. You may want to make sure printing is leagal in your state, in some states it's not.

I'm really, really, really good looking so people check me out all the time.

As obvious as that maybe or seem (your pic) I think that the general public does not notice. That's atleast from my experince.

I envy you living in a free state. If you left your house looking like that here in the Commiewealth of Massachusetts, even though properly licensed, I shudder to think what would happen. At a minimum, they'd pull your LTC and you'd have a hell of a time getting it back.

I don't know that anyone who would notice would make a big fuss, or maybe just get a little nervous, but doesn't it defeat the purpose of concealed carry to print so obviously?

I personally would just carry a smaller gun.

LOL

Anyway your pic is a little too much printing for my tastes. I would not feel comfortable in public like that, although it does look like you are leaning away from your gun a bit.

I'd be concerned if I printed in the rediculous manner you've indicated in your pic.

Wouldn't be concerned if I carried the same pistol in a more appropriate manner, which would be easy to accomplish, though not in a cross draw and tight shirt, for crying out loud.

Basic CCW 101: Modify your clothing to meet your carry needs. Lose the silly tight shirt, unless you like the attention.

Here in Nevada, the concealment definition is:

1. “Concealed firearm” means a loaded or unloaded pistol, revolver or other firearm which is carried upon a person in such a manner as not to be discernible by ordinary observation.

But, OC isn't illegal, so it's not like you'd get in trouble legally for carrying that way. I wouldn't do it myself, but then again I wouldn't ever get a tattoo or purchase time with a prostitute, so there are a lot of things I wouldn't do. :D

I swore that I was going to find out that this was a joke thread. That picture is hilarious.

That's a bit more than "printing". It almost looks like you're purposefully posing to make it stand out the most. Even your hand is flexed.

Get a smaller gun or go strongside and turn the handle so even if it prints it's less obvious.

Most of the general public won't notice, but most LEOs would. Better check the concealed carry and printing laws in your state/ You may be illegal.

I realize concealed means concealed and even though I'm in an Open Carry state;
In states with both concealed and open carry, the laws are usually different for both and won't allow any middle ground or compromise in the two.

Looks like you might want to rethink your belt/holster combo.

I do at times, but normally I carry the same as you in that picture. Definitely a little bigger shirt, but I can certainly see my weapon or something on my belt, as the Don Hume JIT holds fairly close, but doesn't jam it to the body. Being in a OC state, I don't worry all that much about it. I've had only one person question it.

I will not go out with such obvious of a printing issue but I do not mind when printing occurs during the day due to movement, wind, etc.

I used to be a lot more concerned about printing but have come to realize that most people just do not notice. Therefore I do not mind a bump here or there...just nothing completely gun shaped.

Too much printing for me too. I, myself, would not feel comfortable going out like that.

I'll agree with the point though, that most people don't notice. The problem however, at least in my state, is that "most" doesn't cut it. It needs to be everyone doesn't notice, 'cuz all it takes is for one person to say "He's got a gun!" and call the police on me. I get written up for disturbing the peace/brandishing a weapon, which is a misdemeanor and in the Great "Constitution" State, that means they take my CCW away, and the gun I had on me too.

If you were intending to carry concealed in that picutre, that was enough printing that even I would have noticed, and I'm notoriously unobservant of things I'm not looking for specifically. (My husband can tell tales.) ;-) Frankly, though, unless you were doing something else intended to look dangerous or scary, I also couldn't care less if I did notice.

If you were carrying that in a pancake holster or other holster that concealed the outline a bit, though, I'd be as likely to think it was a cell phone/ipod/iphone, or an insulin pump, as a gun. My guess is that most civilians wouldn't particularly notice either.

Thanks for the good advice. I probably chose the wrong shirt today, normally they are a little bigger and doesn't show that much. I'll stick to more pocket carry when the shirt size doesn't quite fit a more appropriate concealed image. After thinking about it, if noticed, other than a LEO; what would a normal citizen say: "Hey, your gun is showing"!. I don't think so....:) Anyway, I guess I've been a "printing delinquent"....

I think being SO obvious might actually make it, not less noticeable, but less noteworthy.

Most people would think you were faking it to draw attention to it, if they thought at all. Or that you drew your shirt over your fanny pack, and isn't it a surprising coincidence it looks like the outline of a gun when you do that?

But as mentioned, if a person "makes" you, there is still only a very small chance they will say anything to you.

Is that a gun...

..or are you just happy to see me. :D I think in years gone by people would have noticed it a lot more, but now people have phones, mp3 players, pager, camera, hand sanitizer, ........ and every other piece of crap hanging off their belt so I doubt anyone would care that much. However, I would never go out with something printing that much - IMHO
