Next gun?

What is your next handgun and why.
There are a few threads on only one, and 5 if you move to Alaska.
But what are you saving for right now?
Not sure for me. Just bought a few that I really wanted for a long time.
I suppose a Smith 29 would be nice again. But I just bought a Ruger in .454.
1911s are always nice, but just bought a RIA officers and already own a series 80 Colt.
Iam leaning towards an MP in .45. But no definate for sures.
How about yall?

This is a tough one, just got back from my best friends and we spent the last two hours talking about just this. He is picking up one on Sat that he has wanted for a long time and does not have many of (40 S&W). The biggest decider was the features of the gun (manual safety, decocker, hammer, length, grip, number of rounds, balance in the hand, finish, etc..)

It's not like we are short on fire power and we both have ones we seldom fire, it's really just personal taste. Both our safes are full, and there is hardly any room for magazines let alone another firearm.

You are just going to have to go with your gut feeling, when you see that shinning black, nickel or stainless beauty in the desplay case that screams "take me home", you will know that you must have it, even if you don't need it.

It is the only way to choose.

Good Luck
Jim

In the last few weeks I have picked up a Kimber pro carry 2, a ruger lcr with ct grips, and an XD45. I think I'm good for now, but I like to trade. :)

I have a few guns on my to-buy list. I'm not sure which I would buy first, so it would probably depend on what I happened across in my travels.

EAA Witness Subcompact in 10mm
Pocket gun - Ruger LCP / Seacamp / NAA Guardian
.357 revolver - Ruger GP100 or Sp101 / used Smith K-frame
.22 revolver - undecided and open to whatever I come across

Longguns:
Levergun in .327 (if they decide to make one)
auto-loading carbine in .223

Sadly, I don't think I will be buying anything for some time :(

Looking for a deal....

When I find one a S&W .41 mag been looking for a while. Then a 10mm, was going to be a Colt Delta Elite but DW is more and more appealing.

Hopefully both will be purchased with in 2 years...:o

I don't consider myself as a gun, or motorcycle collector, but having two of everything doesn't hurt!

"One small, one tall, one fat, and one flat."

My main objective is to get a 44 Mag (Ruger RH 4"). but I spent that money last year on ammo because I couldn't resist the price which has doubled or tripled in value. But I don't want to trade it, or sell it because I can't replace it.

Thank God there is no bear in Vegas, just cougar's!

I've actually got a couple of guns on my list:
1. original colt woodsman target - just cause they are awesome!!
2. ruger 22/45 - for when i don't want to get the woodsman dirty lol
3. belguim browning A-5 SweetSixteen - its in a odd gauge to some pple but still very effective (even if it kicks like hell!!)
4. can't forget about gettin a Garand - just cause its a piece of history.

And most pple think i'm a lil odd that I want these old collectable guns to shoot because of my age. As far as i'm concerned, you can't compare the craftsmenship in those compared to those of today.

It was going to be a Ruger SP101,,,

But (as I just posted this on another thread),,,
It will probably be a pristine S&W Model 12 Airweight.

I stopped for a browse at my local pawn shop yesterday afternoon,,,
I have a Ruger SP101 on order (back order) there.

I started to walk over to the used gun cabinet,,,
The evil owner said to me "Don't bother going there.",,,
"I have what you are looking for right here, waiting for you."

I said, "Yeah right."
"Whatcha got that I can't live witho,,, Oooooh!"

He pulled out a S&W Model 12 with the 4" tapered barrel,,,
Dang thing looks like it's never been fired,,,
No box but it looks like brand new.

"For a mere $400.00 it can be yours." he said,,,
While greedily rubbing his hands together.

Curse him!,,,
I hate that man,,,
he doesn't play fair at all,,,
He knows that I have an affinity for 4" k frames.

So now I have a choice to either stay with the back ordered SP101,,,
Or transfer my down payment onto that very pretty Model 12.

There will always be another SP101,,,

I just find the situation amusing,,,
David (Evil David) is the new owner of the pawn shop,,,
And he has one telling attribute in that he gets to know his clients tastes.

There were two older gentlemen perched on the counter stools,,,
Both were chuckling at my dilemma and teasing me a bit,,,
Then David got up without a word and went to the back.

He returned and laid a very nice Colt Woodsman in front of my tormentor,,,
My tormentor stopped in mid sentence and stared at the pistol,,,
Then the old gentleman turned to me and said,,,
"He really doesn't play fair, does he?"

This is where I bought that pristine Model 15 a while back,,,
Evil David took note of my love for K-frames,,,
It's always in the back of his mind.

I'll probably pop on over there on my lunch break,,,
Have him cancel the order for the SP101,,,
It's too pretty a specimen to pass.

But that's the last time he reels me in like that,,,
I'm going to develop some resistance,,,
I refuse to be manipulated again,,,
'till he gets another K-frame,,,
Curse his bones!

Last week - I bought 2 guns --- a used Sig 239 in 9mm ( I had one in .40 ) ...
and a new Henry Big Boy rifle in .357 mag ( for the heck of it ...).

Saving for now...( I have way more guns that I need ...but ) looking for...

1. a 2nd Sig X-Five ( have one in .40S&W / want a 2nd one in 9mm ) - but there are none for sale, new, in the US right now - maybe by August, I hear...
I want the top of the line one, with the adj trigger .. proabably $ 3,000 retail with 2 extra mags. its a 19rd mag in 9mm vs 14 in .40S&W ...and I just think having another in 9mm would be fun.

2. I have 4 Wilson 1911's right now / but I'd like another Protector model, all stainless, ambi safety, mag well in .45 acp ... about $ 3,250 / but I haven't ordered it yet ... I have other Protectors - set up the same way ..just want another .45 acp ...no logical reason.

3. I'd like a few more model 27 S&W revolvers ( old ones ) - a dash2 would be ok.... I have a 6" blued dash 2 / but I'd like a 4" Nickel, a 6" Nickel ... ( each under $ 1,000 - $ 1,250 ) and a 5" ( rare, blued or Nicklel but under $ 1,500 ) ... No logical reason here either / I have about 9 S&W revolvers in .357 mag (19's, 66's, 686's / and 5 S&W's in .44 mag (29's and 629's ) .....just filling the model 27's out...

I shoot everything I own / but I want them to be clean .....and honestly the "hunt" for them is part of the fun ....

Just got it on my lunch hour,,,

She's a S&W Model 12 Airweight,,,
I think she might still be a pure maiden.

If not she's had the best cleaning I have ever seen.

I named her Eleanor

Sorry for the crappy picture,,,
Took it with a cell phone in the parking lot.

Not sure of the sequnce for these

* 1911 45 acp - adjustable sights - 5 inch barrel stainless.
Flexible on the make, they are all good.

* Hi-Point 45 acp.
bececause I can and anyway, who doesn't want a spare .45.

* New S+W Bodyguard (shrouded hammer model) with the 2.5 inch barrell and full sized ejector.
Unsure if I want to go with the laser grip version.

This is an easy one for me, because this question caught me at the right time. Im picking up a springfield XD tactical in 9mm for IPSC!!
