NEW TIKKA T3x

Interesting. I haven't seen anything on it to date, but I've been surprised by a few things this year. Seems SHOT show and new release coverage was poor at best this year.

I always wanted a Tikka Hunter model.

I think theyre more expensive (like around $850 for a lite blued) but im not sure about this. I also saw a picture of a metal detatchable mag but this also can't be confirmed as of yet.

This is interesting. I wonder when Sportsmans Warehouse will get the new model in. The Tikka T3x super lite sounds pretty good.

I would love to buy a Tikka rifle, but Beretta USA will not import any of the LH versions that I would purchase. It sucks that a company like Tikka offers so many different styles of weapons, but the importer refuses to allow consumers the ability to own any of them.

Beretta USA can kiss my ***,and I refuse to ever spend a dime of my money on any of their products because of their actions,or lack of.

^^ Those are the same -only styles and calibers that is offered by the importer. We don't have access or the ability to buy anything other than what they offer. But, Tikka sells the rifle that I wanted, Beretta USA just doesn't allow or offer special orders for Tikka firearms that aren't in the calibers that they choose to sell us.

I wanted a LH stainless heavy barreled 25-06 from Tikka several years ago. They offer it on their website/catalog, but you can't get Beretta USA to order one. On a phone call they told me that Tikka didn't make one, I then emailed them a copy of the page that listed all of the available cartridges that Tikka offered it in. Then they said we will not order one for you!

It's my understanding, that Tikka is just flaky. At least two gunsmiths that frequent this site claim that there is zero customer support. They can't make repairs, because Tikka will not send relacement parts.

Personally Tikkas don't appeal to me at all. There were just too many corners cut for them to be charging what they do.

Tikkas have a reputation for accuracy, but all cheap rifles now days are capable of equivalent accuracy.

I have never liked rifles where the receiver is a piece of drilled out pipe. The bolt is a solid piece, I don't kno0w, but have heard that the bolt may be partially hollow. The recoil lug is a washer, and I just don't like that Bikini ejection port.

Many shooters think they are the bomb, but I have to wonder, if they have never been exposed to a genuine solidly built rifle.

I'm not saying they aren't suitable rifles, but they cut so many corners and didn't pass any of them to the consumer.

They do have a superior fit and finish to say an Axis, MOssberg, or Ruger American, but should cost maybe $100 more than these entry level firearms.

The notion that Tikka's are more accurate than other cheap rifles is preposterous! I own premium rifles, Weatherby's, Cooper, Mauser and Ruger pistols. The cheapest piece I own is Vanguard in 300WBY easily as accurate as my MKV, 340WBY.

I have owned Mdl 700's in the past, and they were perfectly seviceable, but I sold them when I found what they were.

If the Tikka fits your holster, that's all that matters.

Don't own one, don't want one. I could certainly own them if I wanted to.

I don't have to own a Yugo to know that I don't want one.

I think my Tikka CTR's the bomb, and when used within it's design parameters, it performs on par with my custom Borden which cost 4-fold more.

Preposterous, indeed.

You may have a "thing" against Tikkas, but they shoot. And with good triggers and actions as smooth as snot on a doorknob, they're also a pleasure to shoot.

From my bone-stock Tikka CTR...

...it's pretty good for making 100 yard keyring fobs, too...

I love my Tikka T3 Lite Stainless. Best shooting rifle I have ever owned, but it isn't stock. I couldn't get the rifle in 260 a couple years ago. Called Tikka, called Beretta and had no success. They sold the rifle I wanted in Australia, but not here. I grumped and whined on another forum and a guy offered to build one for me. Took a 308, replaced the barrel and chambered it in 260. Super slick action. Smooth as greased glass. Great trigger. What's not to like?

The best thing is that, for whatever reason, the rifle is just very easy to shoot well. Not every rifle I have is that way.
