New Rifle - Maybe a Savage 116?

So I finally did it, I went and bought a Ruger American Go Wild Camo edition in 6.5 CM. Won't have a chance to shoot it for a few weeks. For a scope, I went with a Vortex Diamondback 4x12x40 BDC, I might already have buyers remorse on the scope, what do you guys think about the scope? I think I did okay on the gun, it was $500 out the door.

With that scope, $500 isn't too bad.
I have same scope on my Savage 111 in 7mm Rem Mag.
As soon as the Forbes is paid off, i'm swapping out the Diamonback for a Sightron.
Will be offered here at a decent discount.
Nuff said about the Diamondback!
 
If they shoot well, does it matter?
I have both. Neither has any descernable difference in the way they shoot, to me.
So i do not prefer one over the other.
Note i'm not dangerous game hunting most of the time.
Wounded bear, i do consider dangerous.
Last i checked, no grizlys in PA.
